No Drill Front License Plate Options
I've seen this topic on the G05 and other forums but don't believe it's been discussed on our F95.
I live in a state that requires a front plate and I'd like to use a no drill option in the center of the bumper. After doing some research I think Carbonio might be the best option but I can't seem to find too many pictures of how this would work or fit on my F95 with ACC. Anyone here use Carbonio or other no drill mounts for their front plates? Also hear some people using Sly Brackets but I don't think they offer a non-offset option. For my E90 M3, I used a tow-hook screw thing that screwed a plate-holder into the tow-hook receptacle, the plate was offset from center, but I think it looks good.
Is there a knockout on the front bumper for a tow-hook screw on the X5M? If so, that might be an option. |

When I was researching for mine a lot of the non offset ones are universal that have brackets that attach to the mesh/grill. Otherwise there are ones that mount with hardware (drilling required) on the bottom side of the bumper.

Anyone know if it’s legal to manufacture or purchase a “Euro-style” long skinny front plate that would have the same numbers/letters as your back-of-car state-issued plate?

BUT if it's a legal requirement to have a front license plate, I highly doubt you'll get away with it as it's a state-regulated item. EDIT: you could mount a front euro-style plate in addition to your legal plate, but I'm pretty sure that defeats the look you're going for ;P |

Thankfully Ohio doesn't require a front plate as of July 2020. That said, I went 4 years without one because I refused to drill holes. I only got one ticket that entire time and it was from a meter maid. No traffic stops (and I had a few ! ) ever said anything.

Updating with pics. Decided to go with the Carbonio front plate mount. Haven't tested for a long duration or at high speeds but appears to be a decent option for those looking for a non-drill, non-offset option for their front plate.
I need to play around with the bracket because it's still a little crooked. Also note for anyone buying this that you can't mount on the top "full rung" as provided for in the instructions, instead you need to go to the very top "half rung" above that in order to avoid triggering the ACC sensor. |

When driving at highway speed, won't the top screws hit the bumper and scratch it?

There are two black bumper-like pieces that come with the kit to protect from scratches. I'll also try to play around with the tilt and see if I have any luck.

Correct the kit comes with rubber bumpers to protect the paint. We have found that the best thing is to mount the plate with the rubber bumpers physically touching the bumper and even better pre-loaded with some natural 'spring'. This can be achieved via the side adjustment screws that allow the setting of angle and distance.
Physically touching the bumper is advantageous to a small air gap because it eliminates the possibility to gain momentum against the paint that can damage it. We ran this strategy on a car for over 2 years in all kinds of weather and when the bracket came off there was not the slightest bit of damage to the bumper. |

Carbonio I've looked at your brand heavily. However, I'm not quite sure the mount for 2021 X6 w/adaptive cruise control will fit. The grill on my 21 X6 is different from the examples on your website and other X6 I've seen in his forum. My front grill doesn't have the several rows of honeycomb as displayed on your pictures and instructions (see pic). Can you confirm the mount will fit? Thank you!
