I'm not happy. Apparently my order was placed last Friday and they are looking to have it delivered in March! I was pretty specific I wanted the X5 for mid April or early May. I thought I had time to confirm the exterior colour thinking the X5 would be placed in February for an 8-10 week delivery. I've got good nerve to say I don't want it and change my mind about the colour. Can that be done?

Man oh man, you think I would have a bloody say on when I wanted the X5 considering the number of vehicles we get and just recently picking up a brand new M2 just before Christmas.

You should be able to change the build week if the vehicle is not yet in in production (150). I doubt it is, its probably at 112 so you should be able to change the color and production week. Talk to the dealer

I don't get a lot of communication from this guy and I asked him to make a change to the Parking Assistant Plus w/ Surround View 5DN instead of 5DM Parking Assistant a few months ago. I have an email saying he'll make the change but I've yet to see the change in order. He also knew we were sitting on the fence between Sapphire Black and Alpine White. I hate arrogance and I seem to be on the receiving end of it. I have no intentions of reaching out. If the car comes in wrong, they'll be ordering a new one. I'm sure I can do that. You would have thought being a loyal customer after so many cars they would have looked after what I wanted and especially when I wanted it.

Do you have a picture of the offer for 900 for tire and rim protection??
Dealer won't budge and wants 1850!!

I would take the information about the Safeguard product with a grain of salt. Similar to how extended warranties from a car manufacturers is usually always better than third party, I would use the same analogy for protection packages. The Tire and Rim Package from BMW has clear defined wording of coverage. Walk into any BMW dealership and make the claim, no need to mess with a third party company, easy. I know a couple of folks who has no trouble getting new tires and rims from damages they incurred. Same for lease end coverage.

The lease end coverage was $1599 (Excess Wear & Use protection), which waived the $1300 security deposit I would have had to pay. This protection also covers the tire and rims upon lease return. That is, you can return the vehicle with bald tires and curb rashes on the rims, which is bound to happen. I believe there is information on the BMW Canada website somewhere on what constitutes an acceptable damages and what does not.

The Tire and Rim protection for 45 months was $900; you can try to negotiate this. I've attached a printout of what my dealer provided me about this protection.

It would be nice if you name the dealer and attach the quote.

This was from Endras BMW and there was no official quote provided as i could have taken the quote and walked into another dealership. Every dealer I spoke to would print official quotes around MSRP but when it came down to finalizing, it was just done through email and further reduced to $900 verbally over the phone. However in the end, I ended up buying from a local dealership here in Ottawa who worked some numbers and beat Endras.
I"ll reply to your pm.

Does anyone have an updated Canadian Order Guide? The one I have was effective Aug 1/18 with change notes dated Aug 28/18.

I’m trying to find out whether the newly announced Individual colours will be available here - Tanzanite Blue II in particular. Not getting a clear answer from my dealer right now.

Thanks

The new U.S. Guide is out with the new colour Tanzanite Blue II metallic (see my post here: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...54&postcount=5), but I have yet to see an updated Canadian Guide and the BMW Canada ordering site also has not been updated yet.

Residuals came down 2%, rate went up by .09% and price went up by $500.

Thanks, much appreciated. My SA spoke to BMW Canada and was told that Tanzanite Blue will likely be available starting May production, but not confirmed as yet.

OMG they're killing me with the waiting, I really want that Tanzanite Blue. They better add it soon or else !

And whats up with the +500 for remote start. Its literally part of the latest update (.65+up) and they have to do nothing to provide the functionality. Damn marketing people...

Thanks for the updates X54TH

As far as I'm concerned it was an opportunity for BMW to put up the price on all their cars by $500. I suspect they'll be giving this back as an incentive as competition heats up. I was also told we can expect to see an Auto Show incentive. It's a simple tactic to increase price only to deal it back.

Auto show incentive is only for X3 and x4.

Figures. Let's face it, we're going to pay a premium for this X5. I've just come to accept it but I will draw the line if I get charge $395 for Green Ride (Nitrogen for the tires).

So I just came to realize that not only did they increase the packages by $500 for the remote start but they increased the base price of the vehicle by $500! The total increase is $1,000 and the residuals came down by 2% and the rate went up by 0.09%.
