Black Vernasca with BROWN contrast stitching?
Has anybody purchased an X5 with Black Vernasca leather with BROWN stitching, as shown in the attached picture?
I have looked at the samples in 3 different dealerships and they are are all identical. My concern is that the samples look like grey stitching to me, not brown. I want to see what it looks like in a real car just to confirm. I definitely do NOT want BROWN stitching, but would be fine with the greyish colour in the samples. This might impact the wood trim I go with as well My real preference would have been for blue stitching with grey poplar gloss trim, like they offer in the X3, since I want Tanzanite Blue paint, but alas neither is offered in the X5. BTW, I find the Merino too soft for my liking. I prefer the Vernasca which is similar to the Dakota leather I currently have. |

My wife's has this. We pick it up next week. We saw another with this interior and the stitching is not brown, it's gray.

That's really good to hear.
Any chance I could impose on you to post pics when you get it. I understand that the M-colours are also part of the piping so I really want to see that! As well, what trim (wood or otherwise ) are you getting? |

That's exactly what I want to get in my X5. I was hoping the M colours in the piping might be more pronounced but sometimes subtle is better. I really prefer this over the Merino leather, which to me is just too soft and won't stand the test of time.
Still don't understand why they call it BROWN contrast stitching though... I will probably get the Anthricite Brown Poplar Matte Wood Trim like gofast182 which btw also looks more grey than brown to my eyes. |

I believe you can only get it with the Essentials package. Seems odd I know

Yah I saw that too, but my biggest issue right now is that the latest Canadian Price Guide, which doesn't take effect until March 1st, does NOT include Tanzanite Blue, even though the Americans can already order it for April production.
Latest rumour has Canada waiting till MY2020 to add Tanzanite Blue if at all, just to piss me off |
