Just about to confirm our X5 order and I've ben debating getting the Display Key option. Is it worth it? Do you use it often?

Had it on a loaner last week and thought I would much rather leave it at home and carry a normal key.

I have it for my 5 series sedan and never use it. It has no hook for putting on keychain so you need a separate case. Bigger than regular key and didn't provide any value over phone app other than the remote control drive to adjust parking.

My brother has it on his M550 and if the self parking was available for the X5 I would have added that option as getting cars in an out of garage is a challenge for my family.

I also heard from another member that this Digital Key is not in addition to the other keys. You get the Digital Key and a spare, two in total.

No, no and no.

It is a talking piece but is utterly pointless. If it had the functionality of the app it would be awesome (e.g. find the car etc) but in the UK you cannot even pre-heat the car so it really is useless. Cost to replace? £700+!

BMW Connected app for Android is lacking plus a Display key would be nice. If you lose that gigantic thing you have bigger issues...
