In the long run, I would be surprised if the X5 WOULDN'T get the promised features. I don't think BMW will be able to "move"many customers to the X7 based on features. It's a different vehicle with a different target group and different price range. the average X5 is simply not willing to pay $20K more to get an alcantara headliner and a bigger vehicle they don't need. Not to mention the bad lease-deals and lack of discounts on the X7.

I think MY20 will be the complete launch for the G05. By then, we should be getting what we want.
Maybe there is another updated guide. This one says effective July 2018.

question for electric tow hitch

Is this electric tow hitch available in the USA? example of it is in the carwow review on youtube -
if we can't post links it would be the carwow review published feb 8th and 176 sec in (2m 56s). the hitch option off the builder just adds that back piece that removes the kick function.

I can't say for sure whether it is available. However, when you look at the images on the configurator with and without the hitch it looks to be just a standard hitch receiver; it does not disappear.

Forget the effective date, look at the change notes on the 2nd page, with the latest changes dated 12/20/2018.

Even other versions of the guide that were released did not change the effective date. Individual items that have been added will have a note indicating the SOP date (Start of Production).

Hey!
I just stumbled over this pricing guide. It's very interesting since I didn't know this paper in EU. Did I get it right, that the alcantara headline is not planned anymore for April 19 or not planned at all? I'm an European buyer but due to the fact that I didn't have any knowledge of such a paper in Europe, I guess that the alcantara headliner will also not be available in Europe, if it is deleted on the feature list for America...

Thanks for your quick support!

Halloechen!

My best guess is that there is simply a supplier issue right now and that we might see the Alcantara for the next MY. When I checked out the German configurator, I also noticed that Alcantara wasn't offered which made me come to this conclusion. Usually, Germany gets everything possible and an option for an Alcantara headliner is almost a "must" on a luxury-vehicle these days.

Now, if it becomes available for Germany but not for the U.S., then we know for sure they deleted it on purpose.

I believe MY20 will be the moment of truth to find out what we will be getting in the U.S. and what not...

Aah thank you! Then we will hope that it will not take too long until the headliner will be published..

I certainly hope so. I love the light ivory merino leather and with the Alcantara headliner "in upholstery color", it would come with a nice, light headliner which would make the interior appear bigger...

Right now, you only get a dark headliner...

I am looking to get the off road package and a trailer hitch. I would like the m sport brakes as well. It looks to me that I can get these together on the 50i, but not on the 40i. Is this correct?

PS I am really disappointed that the headliner is in black only. The Canberra beige would be so much better with a light or even brown headliner! It does not sound like that is likely to change soon even though the x7 has a light headliner. Are there any thoughts on when "spring" will produce an update on this?

Thanks,
Allen

Is there a new ordering guide out?

My CA just sent a note telling me as of yesterday, I could order the M sport brakes on the regular x5 40i.

Now all I am waiting for is the light headliner for the Canberra Beige interior. I hope that is available soon!

It's not available in the USA or Canada. It's a European hitch - completely different standard.

Ordered Comfort Package

I Ordered the Comfort Handling Package along with my M-sport Package.
It says In order to make this addition, you'll remove:

Adaptive M Suspension.

Is this advisable? I like what the Comfort Handling package provide.
I ordered all of the other packages

Looks like the only trim that will get DHP is M50i?

I'm pleasantly surprised they're still making the xDrive 50i for MY2020 with the current V8.

Damn no more Cognac or Tartufo. Your interior choices are boring, boring, boring and boring combined with a gray, black or white exterior. Driving an X5 will be like living in Seattle.

Looks like acoustic glass price has doubled. Wonder if that means the rear side windows will also be acoustic?

Has anyone notice that the 40i engine has been updated from B58B30M1 to B58C?

Does anyone know what changes are made?

Thanks
