BMW X5 xDrive 40i Arctic grey, 21" orbit grey wheels, coffee vernasca leather, multi contour massaging seats, and matte poplar.

It took 2 days shy of 4 weeks to get it from ordering. The my garage was very behind in updating, it was in "production starts today" for 9 days.

It came in last night and I had to go on a 6 hour road trip today so I got it last night and the genius set up Apple CarPlay and everything else. This morning all settings were gone. Hopefully it won't happen again tomorrow.

I do have 2 problems so far: the back right vent puts out heat instead of A/C (in FL!) and the wireless charging made my iPhone XS Max so hot it malfunctioned. It also sets off my Apple Pay card every time. My phone stayed at 80% the whole 6 hour drive while using CarPlay but it never increased the charge.

It drives beautifully of course. It's a little more sensitive than our 535 m-sport but that could be more cross winds.

I got the premium package and the massaging ventilated seats. The massage is THE BEST THING EVER. It's fairly subtle (not like a shiatsu chair) but I think it doubled the amount of time I was able to drive without a break. The ventilation is not noticeable to me.

I wasn't able to figure out how to switch from Siri to BMW voice control. It seemed to be either or.

I love the Arctic Grey. It takes on a lot of different colors. Looks blue at night, lilac in direct sun. The 21" wheels are gorgeous. The matte poplar wood is more black/grey than brown. The Harmon Kardon sounds great.

I only got the premium package. I wish I had the heated/cooled cup holders but it wasn't worth $2000. I do, however, wish I got the 3D cameras. They also didn't tell me that the tow hitch I bought gets rid of foot controls to open the tailgate, but it does.

I got the accessory hook that plugs into the back of the seat. It's big and goofy and has to be removed if anyone sits there. I liked my $3 amazon headrest hook better.

Hopefully they can fix the 2 issues, but I can say with certainty that this is my favorite of the 6 or 7 BMWs we've had and a million times better than the Audi I just happily turned in.

So true about the colour. Sometimes I love it and sometimes it looks really flat/light. Only time will tell.

I would really love to see some pics of the matte poplar wood especially since you said it was more black/grey than brown.

I really wanted grey poplar gloss like they offer in the X3 but for some reason its not offered in the X5, so I'm considering the matte poplar instead but haven't been able to see it anywhere other than the sample which I don't trust.

Hmm..I was told that factory hitch does not block foot sensors. But relocates them bit to the side.

Can’t verify that, don’t have mine yet.

Nope, factory hitch deletes the foot sensors. Since we already have another TV, we just deleted the hitch that were originally going to order.

Congrats! Nice, I really like the orbit gray 744's. I went with the bi-color 744's, tough decision. They'll eventually get you sorted, albeit a frustrating ordeal.

The vehicle likely forgot your settings because you used the alternate key fob or were not “logged in” as the right person or you may have been logged in as guest. Settings are paired to the key fob

To use iDrive voice command, quick press the microphone button on the steering wheel

To use Siri voice command, long press the microphone button on the steering wheel

To get the rear and front temperature controls to synchronize, press the “menu” button located under the temp display (press the top of the button) and make sure “Synchronize” is selected. Also, go into the rear climate settings and there should be an option to have them synchronize to the front.

The Apple Pay issue is Apple’s to fix. If you don’t want it to pop up, remove the credit cards from your Apple wallet - until Apple fixes (if they ever do). Having it attempt to pay may contribute to overheating.

If you use a thick phone case, that can cause the inductive charger to struggle and may contribute to overheating

The a/c issue was looked at by the dealer and does need to be fixed. I didn't have a case on the phone so that wasn't the issue with charging. The BMW always activates when I short press, but Siri only seems to work sometimes. I think you are right, when the genius set me up, I never logged into my BMW account so it must have been a guest. I did notice one other thing I'm not thrilled about. The back seats seem very wrinkly.

Your rear seat is not too bad. I've seen a lot worse. If mine looks similar I will be OK with it. Delivery is scheduled for Monday.

That isn't something I'd complain about. But compared to the front seat it doesn't look as nice.

Why do you think it's an Apple issue? I use wireless chargers at home all the time and my Apple Pay doesn't activate.
