G05 40i Exhaust Flap

On previous models, it has been possible to disconnect the wiring that controls the exhaust flap actuator, which will allow to exhaust vapor to exit on both sides, as well and increase the sound and burble. It was a fairly simple process. However, with the more model, I can’t seem to get exhaust flap on the 40i to open so that I can unplug the wire. I’ve tried cold/warm starts, sport modes, etc. Once the flap is open, the rest is easy. Anyone have any other ideas??

Forgot about that, well you wouldn't need the disconnect them because I'm sure they'd fail before winter ends. Sort of off topic but how is your Velar? Have you experienced the usual RR bugs?

Yeah worst case I will put the spring back. Still eagerly waiting for mpe. Velar is full of bugs , system is way to new as well.

Is there going to be a MPE; I haven't heard anything about one.
(assume you mean a standalone M Performance Exhaust we can buy) That's what I thought, I teat drove one and while it was nice the whole infotainment system was slow and messy. My boss has a RR LWB Autobiography and I'm not sure how he deals with the bugs when spending $150k+ on a car. They look so nice, I keep telling myself not to get one so that's why I got the X5

spring was actually removed, so now that steel wire is holding flap in place in an open position so it doesnt flap around inside the pipe. nothing complicated. it does have a bit more growl and pops. Still will not replace an MPE but a bit louder.

Nice! This is the only thing bothering me about the 40i as I came down from a 2016 X5M beast..... I feel like I'm driving an electric car now with the 40i. Been 3 weeks and is the only thing leaving me

and to be honest its not even the sound that was bothering me. Its the fact that its cold outside and smoke was only coming from a single pipe and with my OCD i couldnt deal with it.
