Launching Energy Shot... Wanted fill in my E90 pals

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I am currently in the process of launching my own energy shot, similar to 5hr energy, with my roommates. We were fed up with the lack of jobs, we are all Finance majors, so we thought of this one night and decide to give it a shot. We have already created our LLC and filed all of the necessary paperwork.

The drink is called Krave Energy and will feature a very refreshing look and will have zero calories, zero carbs, and zero sugar - something no other energy shot has that is currently on the market.

At this point, we are looking for ideas to get the product into stores around the country... Right now we only have clients in Washington DC and State College, PA.

I can give more information as it comes together in the coming days... I wanted to inform all my buddies at E90Post of this and ask for any advice or input you guys might have.

Thanks guys, any input is greatly appreciated!

-Mike

I think it's a bad idea that you have zero calories and zero sugar and zero carbs. I think people these days people want taste and they want stuff that's natural and healthy. Having calories in drinks isn't a bad idea. Who is your target market? I am totally against aspartane and made made sugars.

Marketing your drink is the biggest challenge and it can be very expensive. So, always make a high quality product with natural ingredients that has value.

Ohh it's fine, you should hear the guys on the Subbie forum - really ripping me apart.

I agree the market is pretty packed right now, but we are priced at $1.89, nearly 60% cheaper than 5hr energy.

Also, I totally hear you on the all natural. We were aiming more towards college students and young adults. Many of those people think of zero calories and zero sugar as healthy rather than all natural, but with calories.

Marketing is going to be pretty expensive though. We have a few connections that we are using now to get some free start up marketing, but it is going to be tough. I am worried we won't be able to get enough stores to pick it up...

I'm going to see that you're going to be working with a bunch of chemist with your drinks. The drink has to taste familiar with the competitors but still be unique.

It has its own unique taste, but I honestly think it tastes better than 5hr... Granted I might be a bit biased.
If you have ever had a 5hr energy, it is the same type of berry flavor but without the medicinal after taste. You can tell it has "fake sugar" in it though, but it isn't too prevalent.

Can we see the nutritional label? And if it is exactly like 5hr energy, but cheaper, then your product = win.

Sure thing,

Here is the current rendering of the bottle that I did in Photoshop, not the final or professional design...

And the supplement label:

Sorry for the poor quality screenshot on the supplement facts, I'll get a new one.

Also the slogan on the bottle is being changed, but we aren't sure what to yet...

Cool, thanks. Good luck with it.

So are there any other things that differ you from 5hr Energy besides price and zero carbs/sugar/cals?

Haha, a friend of mine said to put "illegal" on it just to drum up controversy haha

We are looking for stores to pick it up, we already placed our initial order, just waiting for it to get here. I'm worried that we won't be able to sell them all, I figured it will either work and work well or just fail on the first try.

And to Doug, it is pretty much the same thing with the differences that you noted. With a better flavor of course
