BMW to exit F1 as well

Seems no one is happy with the new rules and proposal from the FIA.

Ouch...ohh well.

BMW makes a great diesel. Maybe they can challenge Audi and Peoguet in ALMS.

This as already tried.

the manufacturers tried for years to bring their own series to the table. It was called the GPWC, it failed. They never even got past the planning stages.

If you want to see what it's like to have 2 similar series fighting for fans, just look up CART/IRL split.

Hopefully BMW and Ferrari don't pull out. I would hate to see them leave. But I don't think a two tier option would be very good either.

They should start a new series that benefits all. Motor racing only works when manufacturer's involved - not sharing profit with an individual.

It didn't help when Ferrari turned their back on the group.

Regardless; the CART/IRL was indeed brutal and now the former doesn't exist anymore.

No because if the 4 main manufacturers that supply engines walk away (Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault and Toyota) there would not an F1 series anymore.. Heck the FIA and Bernie would not allow for that to happen, they would be on their knees begging.. The manufacturers just need to come together and threaten to walk away if they do not get what they want.
First things first, they need to agree on what they want
