A floor sales-child (guy looked like he was 15 yrs old) told me today that I should wait until March to lease because there will be more dealer incentives then. Has anyone heard of this? It that typical around March? Thanks in advance for answers

If he ends up being right, I'd call it a coincidence. I don't think any BMW dealership would know in advance how good a particular month's incentives will be until they are officially released to them. Having said that, I really hope that ends up being the case since I'm picking up my car in March

He mentioned dealer incentives and not BMW incentives so perhaps his dealership runs some type of March sales.

Yeah a lot of dealerships will make it sound like a great discount only to have it be superficial, with incentives added in. I've heard Florida dealers are pretty stingy with their discounts, but it would be worthwhile to get multiple dealers involved.
I think I am done with lease trickery. Thinking of financing where numbers are simple. (So far !). Could some one explain the 2 parts of BMWFS. $750 rebate + $2000 APR rebate ?

Actually the same games can be played with the finance rate so don't shy away from leasing due to that alone. The $750 is a conquest incentive and the $2k incentive is for financing the minimum amount (most say $7,500) with BMW finance.

The "trickery" can go both ways, financing or leasing. Regardless of which method you choose, your goal is to set a desired discount pre-incentive, and not allow the dealer to try and bundle incentives into your discount to make it seem like you're getting a larger discount than what you actually are.

Thank you ! Standing my ground so far. May finalize something with dealer 40 miles away. 10% before rebates so far.

Can not stop looking at other build I did with dealer who tried to cheat me. Production Started.

Friends, let me thank many of you who shared info about how these things work. Finally I inked a deal today for 9% discount before incentives. 10.73% with 1250 of incentives. That is for the lease. I was not able to secure .00142 MF. So I had to go by .00182. I thought for Florida that is almost max of a deal, if not max.

xDrive / xLine
Dark Graphite
21 inch run flats
Ivory White Vernasca
Dark Ash Brown Wood Trim
Premium Package
3rd row / Air susp
Glass Controls
Parking Assistance Plus
Harmon Kardon
Laser Lights
Multi Contour Seats

$74,220 - $7,457 - $500.

CA said they already have some allocations. Will punch in tomorrow. Fun starts now, again.

I just picked up my new X5 yesterday and stoked! I was able to secure 8% off before incentives, then 3250 non-BMWFS rebate (side note: v. odd it's more than Dec. 2000 or 2750 for BMWFS--can't recall). CiprianS Thank you for the referral. Your San Antonio dealer offered 9% off MSRP but I didn't think the logistics were worth 1% (I live in Dallas. Also I already got him from 6% to 8%) and with the great service I received I wasn't willing to squeeze my Dallas/Ft Worth area sales assoc. for 1% more. Specifically these guys are in Grapevine so you can figure out who.

xDrive 40i MSRP 77,170
Discounted price with incentives 67,730

I realize ~10% seems to be the defacto standard for "good deal" but this is a custom order. What's more, I changed my order after my first one was in production and this dealer let me restart the build process as long as I was OK with another 2-4 week wait. When it was all said and done it was only 3 weeks from the start of my new/final order. Very happy about that. Not to mention this dealer is known for great white glove service. For example they'll come pick up your vehicle from home or work to wash it with no extra service contract required. Maybe that's normal but I come from a Chrysler/Jeep world where service is an afterthought.

Cheers to all who provided helpful info here. Thank you!

What are you alls thoughts on this? I was inquiring about an order but may have more leverage with one on a lot. Not sure what to do. My wife's lease ends in April.

You need a breakdown of the discount/rebates. We don't know what you qualify for, it could be as little as $500 or could be $4K. That makes a huge difference to your discount

This is a total guesstimate. Assuming rebate totals are $1,750 (loyalty and lease credit), and assuming they're giving you the base 0.00142 money factor, then you're getting about 9% off MSRP before incentives. It's a good discount but you can probably squeeze for 10% which will bring your payment down like $30.
