Careful what you wish for. Reconstruction of video leading up to a crash will be a double-edged for some folks. Guaranteed.

I know it could be shooting yourself in the foot but anything that prevents the "crash for cash" scandal we have in the UK HAS to be a good thing.

Several friends/family members of mine have been screwed by liars doing illegal turns or slamming their brakes for NO REASON at all, plus I've never been in an accident that was my fault so the drive recorder would've an instant checkbox for me when we ordered our G05!

I disagree. I'm 49 and I love this sort of tech. It could be especially useful in the event of an accident. Look at what Tesla is doing with their many exterior cameras... it has caught quite a few vandals trying to deface vehicles. I don't see myself using the drive recorder to record my amazing driving skills and then post to YouTube

Absolutely. I would also use it for security and accident reasons. Really hope it’s added via a software update.

Does anyone know what is included in the "BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trim with extended features"?

Will this be providing BMW black grill / black exhaust pipes / black window trim and more?

referring to https://www.bmw-m.com/en/topics/maga...clusivity.html for M4 it gives black badging even?

I Guess so. My dealer told me it will be possible to order with gloss black grill and exhaust pipes.

I asked dealer and indeed it would mean blacking out "more" than just the window trim so I've added this option, drive recorder and the alcantara anthracite headliner

Get it. The shadowline trim really works with a black grill. It takes the “attitude’ up another notch.

Still no word (from what I can tell) on x5 45e release date in USA? The press release refers to August but I suspect that is not the US market... Anybody have any info?

That is the best color combo I have seen yet. Seems a different blue then I have seen locally - maybe lighting.

Thanks. Carbon Black has so many looks in various lights. It also has that deep reflective quality that looks 20’ deep.

Same day 10 minutes from the other pic on the grass.

Also agree, 40 sec is nothing considering how cheap storage is these days.
Yep it would be discoverable. But they do work well if you’re a safe driver. We have used them in a trucking Fleet successfully. Very helpful if you are not the helpful party.

The one thing I am not crazy about (maybe just not used to yet) is the new grill - this black seems to tame the effect a little.

Still looks like it will be Fall of 2020, I don't think that has been updated.

New model pipeline thread May update says it will be a 2021 MY for USA

“US X5 xDrive45e has been delayed until 2020 (MY2021)”

...The M50i could be a 2 year wait since they didn't introduce it as a future release??...
Fear not...the new 523hp V8 is coming. The first BMW X vehicle to get it will be the new G06 BMW X6 M50i which will be unveiled in a couple of months. After the G06 X6 launch, this engine will then be introduced on both the X5 & X7.
Do you have any info on the 2020 X6 m50i I got my eye on that.

In the X7 2020 ordering and pricing guide I noticed it says manual rear sunshades. Are the motorized ones no longer available?

The X7 has rear electric side window shades as part of the Premium pkg, the X5 gets the manual pull up kind.
