to be fair, all wood furniture should be properly maintained at least annually. why is this no different?

Thanks for the responses, Ill take it up again with the sales manager. Perhaps he can help with BMW NA... after all, its most likely the damage was there before dealership received car.

Wow that's terrible. I noticed that our E70 had a blemish on one of the trim pieces before taking delivery. Asked to have it replaced and the dealership agreed. Took delivery and drove it home. Dealership got back to me that they were still willing to replace it, but would have to rip apart half of the interior to remove and replace it, due to how the car was built. It was noticeable if you were looking for it, but truly not that bad, and not nearly as bad as what's in this thread. Decided to pass on replacement, the dealership comped us with $500 with of freebie accessories, and after that we never noticed it again.

I'd definitely want to have this replaced in here.

Replacing that dash trim piece is very straightforward. The part is very expensive, but labor is less than 15 minutes tops.
