16 months 7k miles. 2021. No issues. Much better than my 2018 530e which had a ton of software bugs and check engine lights in the first year.

Valve replacement?? Valve as the valve for the ICE engine?

just a few months in and had nothing to report UNTIL I made a run to the cleaners today and the main screen went black. Could not revive it myself, but eventually it displayed "navigation system launching" or something similar. Eventually came back and was up and running fine the rest of the way home. Weird.

Sorry to hear about those who are having problems!

2022 X5e is only months old -
8400 miles the passenger side blind spot monitoring is inconsistent. Drivers side has been perfect.
Sensors replaced 2,000 miles ago and same conditions have again returned.
Also now have v additional issues:
Not always recognizing one of the fobs for vehicle entry.
Occasionally will not start with start button.
Outside folding mirrors sometimes fail to reposition automatically.
Vehicle does not always recognize / adjusts for which driver is in the vehicle.
Looks like screen in front of driver is starting to delaminate.
( Little dots like air bubbles on various areas of screen ) Note that Never used any cleaning solutions to wipe / clean the screen.

After the blind spot monitoring sensors were originally replaced, my wife and I met with the BMW genius & reviewed and reset all the vehicle settings for both of our fobs because none of our original settings were retained & we wanted to be sure we had saved everything correctly. ( 1st BMW )

Vehicle is being dropped off at dealer Monday & they are providing a loaner until issues are resolved.

My 2021 45e is Tango Uniform

follow this thread:

https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1947828&page=2

16k miles, 16 months old, about 2 weeks ago on the way to the store got a Drivetrain malfunction and Battery error. This is a recall vehicle for the battery pack which was fixed. But that exact fault was identified in the Nov 21 recall letter of what would happen if a battery (cell or module) short-circuited.

I'm going to try for a swap or buyback. I had good communication w/ BMWNA until we got word last week that this will take 4 weeks or more to fix. Since then BMWNA hasn't returned my phone calls or emails.

I'm in a different state (NV) from where I bought it (CA.) I am passed the NV lemon laws expiration (see thread) but not CA. Just Fri I contacted my original dealer to let them know. Not sure they can do anything, but if I to initiate Lemon law (hope I don't), then I might have to work it through Cali.

WOW!! Try "trade assist"...remember that post in the other thread. Your dealer would open a case with BMW.

I haven't bought one yet. However, I'm really worried as I drive very little...so my car will have that much mileage in 4 to 5 years! That would possibly be after the warranty had already expired...

that's an option. However I want to stay in the same contract. I got 0.9%, and I've heard swap or replacement may be an option. Plus BMW probably wants to keep me w/ BMWFS. I won't rule any option out yet.

for anyone who gets a PHEV or full electric - I've always said it's better to trade the car in before the warranty ends. And you still might get the $7500 tax deduction too on a new one. Makes no sense IMO to keep a PHEV for a long time. Batteries degrade .. ALOT. I used to work in Aerospace, I've seen it in satellites. Or just your phone you know it. Replacing my battery pack on the recall, the SA told me they will bill BMWNA for around $22k. The SA recently told me they had a catastrophic failure on a car just out of warranty and it was over $30k to fix. Just saying. If you don't drive too much, then you don't have hi petrol costs anyway.

OMG! 30k?! And it was out of warranty...

You're absolutely right...I don't pay much for gasoline! I'm also considering the X7!

2 weeks, 600 miles, most of them on way home from PCD. Not much to go on. But perfect so far.

And am extremely impressed overall with this SUV.

To solve the problem, the tech had to work closely with BMW engineers in Germany, disassembling and reassembling the entire HV battery.

My question is: how many 45e owners have had problems that required returning their vehicles to the dealer for service other than scheduled maintenance? Please tell us your stories via reply. A poll would be even better, indicating MY and nature and number of repairs, but I don't know how to design one that would give us a spreadsheet showing this information. Anyone want to try? If there's a pattern of issues, then perhaps we can push for renumeration and/or better warranty coverage.
14 months with 10,200 happy miles and counting😀

Batteries do go bad. It's weird that you say that bc the X5 45e is the only vehicle that I will most likely upgrade more often than say my Mercedes ML 400, Audi SQ5 and 4Runner.

My first 21 was in the shop for almost 3 months after 1 month of ownership due to the battery recall. My 2nd 21 we had it for 15 months 26k miles no issue at all just lots of weekend trips.

I believe leightos got it right. I tend to keep my cars for more than 10 years. I think that the battery replacement on PHEV or fully electric vehicles will be very costly. This was one of things I took into consideration when I bought my 40I. If I leased the 45E would be in my garage.

Same here. I’m making an 8-12 year purchase so I went with the 40i.

The warranty on the battery is 8 years/80k, right? Not worried. If it stops delivering the performance they billed for the car, I will expect warranty service to make it right

depends on the state. CARB states have longer warranties:
8Y/100K miles or 10Y/150K miles

How can I find this info? It must be hidden somewhere on their site.
