Are you buying the vehicle in South Korea? If so, the information that we've shared relates to USA vehicles. I noticed on the BMW Germany website, that the headliner shows as Night Blue and not Ivory, so I would check with your local dealer for confirmation.

I repeat that I do think BMW and their advisers are wrong and I still secretly believe the headliner with XD5 in US with fullMarino white ivory/night blue the headliner will be in blue that’s my opinion
Time will tell we will see

Just placed my M50i order. System would not even accept XD5 with Extended Ivory Merino. So I opted for Anthracite Alcantara instead.

According to pricing guide revision dated July 15th 2019 for the X5 2020..... the XD5 option requires ZAEI, ZBEI or ZBEW. This means light color alcantara option requires either extended or full merino in ivory white/ night blue combo or full merino in ivory white.
This is a change from the 5/22/19 version of the pricing guide.

For me its a deal breaker not to be able to get light color headliner (sans material) in all seat/leather combination as anthracite is too dark. Was hoping and waiting for a year to get light interior with one color seat and not have to pay $4800 !!

Good catch. I was looking at the 5/22/19 guide which didn’t show the XD5 limitations. I guess that it makes sense that they wouldn’t offer multiple headliner colors or have Ivory White headliner with coffee leather.

Here's the latest pricing guide. I didn't highlight the changes with the XD5 option, but it's referenced on pages 2 and 8.

Still confused - my interpretation of the SXD5 option was "Alcantara in upholstery color" My upholstery is black - does this mean it will come with a white headliner? That makes no kind of sense.

It doesn't make sense to me either but according to Auricom ,who is usually spot on, the Alcantra headliner in upholstery color will always be white unless you order the white/blue in which case it is blue which I think is different than what we last heard from dealers. He shows a picture of brown seats and white headliner and specifically mentions black seats will get white also.

I’ll find out in a about 10 days whether this is accurate

I ordered a M50i with coffee full merino and the Alcantara headliner in upholstery color. I questioned the dealer twice on this and he is saying it would not be ivory. I have my doubts.

Let us know how your headliner turns out. I continue to be uncertain about ordering it. I also am ordering full coffee merino and would like a matching headliner , but it appears BMW is not matching upholstery color with the headliner even though the description leads one to believe so.

Except when I try to configure a 2020 with "Alcantara in Upholstery Color" on the BMW site, it removes the Black Full Merino Leather and substitutes white, along with the white headliner. So still confused....

That makes sense and is what I would expect it to do given the rule in the pricing guide. It could be Auricom got some bad/outdated info this time.

Apologies, I had a test build of the BYO BMW and the headliner options have been fixed:

1. Anthracite alcantara headliner is available with full black, coffee and ivory interiors
2. Alcantara headliner in upholstery color is available with full ivory and ivory/night blue interiors

Thanks! I expect I'll be calling BMW and my dealer Tuesday to find out WTH. My order has both XD5 and Black Full Merino Leather, anticipating black leather upholstery and a black headliner. Now I'm not sure what I'll get - black leather with a white headliner, white headliner and white leather, or maybe even white leather and a black headliner. There was no 2020 build on the BMW NA site when I ordered, so both my CA and I "guessed" the "headliner in upholstery color" meant, well, the headliner would come in the color of the upholstery. Not the exact opposite. Unless there is a different German translation of the phrase.

Where are you looking to see your build info? The VIR? Be prepared that with full black merino, your dealer won't be able to change your order. The full merino is individual and locks out the build. Let us know what happens!

Build info is from My BMW Tracker - it still shows Black Full Merino, but no headliner color mentioned, and on BMW NA you can't configure black upholstery with the white headliner (Alcantara Headliner In Upholstery Color), so maybe will work out. Hope so, because this may end up being a deal-breaker. CA assured the headliner would match the leather. White headliner would not be my first, or tenth choice.

Seems like the logical approach would be that if you have black leather then it shouldn't matter if you get the upholstery colored or anthracite because they'll both be black.
