Exhaust Black Out Piece on Amazon

What do you guys think of the viability and sustainability of this piece. It has 3m double sided tape and is supposed to stick to the exhaust housing.
Will it stick in the heated area?
Seems like a simple and easy way to black out the exhaust area but I wonder if it will work or not. Your thoughts?

I know another G05 owner did this a few months back - if you search for their post, you may be able to see their thoughts.

Bought these exact same ones from eBay a few months ago and have had them on the car since then without any issues. It does not even look like they are add-ons it looks and flows very seamlessly as if it was an original part on the car.

Sam,

Can you post a pic of what they look like. Considering these as well. Thanks in advance

Awesome!

I was hoping this would be the case.

Simple, easy and cheap mod.

Thank You.

Ditto, partially for basic looks (I didn't really want to look like an AMG), partially because that middle piece is the only part that is in exhaust flow and gets pretty hot, and partially because the middle piece prevents playing with more attractive exhaust tips.

But as is, I have these on as well since May 2019. Paint is not peeling from any of it and, as mentioned, only the middle bar gets hot — you can touch the surrounds after a good run, but not the middle piece. Only wear that I notice is the paint of the middle piece has become matte with the surrounds still glossy — so the heat does have an impact, but at least so far, you have to look pretty close to see it. Overall, the simplicity has been worth it. If/when paint peels, I'll remove them and put new ones on.

Here are some pics:

What tips are those? I have the shadowline exhaust OEM tips sitting in a box bc I tried to install them myself and had no luck so I still need to get those on but those tips look nice sticking out. Wished that's how the car came in the first place. Although you have the m50 and I have the 50i, I'm assuming the application should still be the same.

Did have an issue with having them stay on though so after a few weeks I just took them out after I lost 1 on the highway

So I received my exhaust tip covers today from amazon. Overall give them 4/5 stars so far mostly because they use a low quality adhesive which is very difficult to peel the red plastic backing off. I would recommend a pair of tweezers.

Lexx, speaking of looks, have you thought of changing the body color panel around the receiver? Looks awful imho with white especially. Probably my first mod if/when I finally get mine.
