I noticed yesterday that they now have warnings on certain options (priority 1 paint, Merino leather, and priority 1 trims) that they will extend the build time up to 10 weeks. The way it is working it looks like 10 weeks from order and not 10 weeks more than normal.

For what it's worth, I have recently purchased G05 and G07, both with Merino leather, and it didn't delay anything for either vehicle. Possibly certain paint codes like Tanzanite or Ametrin, might have some role in delaying production.

I wonder if they simply added these warnings in as a cover after receiving complaints from impatient customers lol.

My order took roughly 9 weeks, and included merino leather, ametrin paint, and ind. ash grain silver trim, so it appears BMW is just covering for themselves.

That is probably the case. It seems like the demand for the X5, in all different configurations, is pretty high so they are definitely pumping them out. I wonder how much of a price increase that will result in next year.
