What dealer did you use? i ordered a built 40i (picking it up Monday) and got 9.75% plus the $2,750 to finance $7,500 for 4 months. i only looked at 2 dealers on L.I. and seeing what is going on on this site i thought my deal was fair. i didn't want to make a career of trying to get another point.

Sent you a private message, but yes the extra point not really worth a ton of hassle. Best I was offered on an x40 was 10%. I just emailed dealers and only visited to sign the deal. I did visit one dealer and he was super knowledgeable but he never responded to my price request.

Agreed - finding a decent deal in NYC was pretty straight forward, several dealers were able to get to 10% pretty quickly and low fees (think capped at $85) compared with the NJ dealers which charge $400+ negating the benefit of MSD.

From a number of posts I just read, this may have changed and the $2k incentive is available when purchasing whether or not you use BMW Finance.

Adding here to keep this thread uptodate

Asked for and got 9% off MSRP from dealer; before $1250 loyalty and $500 Lease credit.

$80,820 MSRP; 3 Yr/7500 lease (58% residual) with No down came to $991/month-I only have to pay the first month $991 on pick up, with 35 payments remaining. They had no problem with MF 0.00142.

Just to be sure, ran the numbers on a leasechecker site and it gave me $986/month so it checked out, accounting for some tag fees etc.

The car is already ordered; the didn't ask for any payment; everything has been done by email. (I have purchased 2 cars from them in last 3 years).
Hoping to get 1k from BMWCCA, so not a bad deal overall. I never visited the dealership so never pushed for any more.

Dealer is telling my the $2k is available WITHOUT BMW FS but the loyalty credit requires it? Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

Could you PM me the sales advisor/dealer you used for this deal?

I've been going to Rallye BMW for years but my buddy left and switched over to MB so I need to find a new trust worthy person to work with.

shopping for a custom order Xdrive 40i with MSRP 76970 in socal. just getting started and got a couple of quotes (no back forth yet), one is

70250 (8.7% off) - 2000 finance - 750 conquest + tax etc.

the other one is 69645 (9.5% off) - 750 conquest + tax etc. after I told him about the 2000 finance credit from the other dealer he said he would go back and double check and would honor it if it is true (i think he will say yes).

both are just a round of email, really not negotiated anything yet, other dealers so far are around 2000 higher at least with the initial offer. How much better could I do?

thanks guys.

The discount you're getting from the second dealer (assuming it is 9.5% off before incentives) is a really good start. If they're giving you that right away, they're either of the philosophy of (1) give your best up front and don't go down further, or (2) give almost your best with some more room to go down. Assuming it's the latter, I would say you can probably squeeze out max 1% more from them. If you get anything between 10-11% off before incentives, you're in really good shape. Good luck!

thanks for the reply. really helpful. The second dealer said he thought the 2000 finance credit was only applicable to loaner (1000-5000 miles) but not brand new cars, but he will go and double check since the first dealer says it is available. Just to make sure what he said is false, right?

Yes, it's false. If anything, the $2000 credit would NOT apply to loaners with more than 1,000 miles. It for sure applies to new vehicles (including custom orders). My hope is that he doesn't come back and say his initial discount included the $2,000. Doesn't sound like he can claim that now though based on his uncertainty that it applies in the first place. So you should be good. Just try to get another 1% off the MSRP if you can and also confirm you can get the full $2750 ($2000 + $750) on top of that.

My information is the $2K BMW finance discount has been available for several months and now you don't even need to finance with BMW finance to receive it. I suggest you ask dealer to specify precisely which manufacture discounts he believes you are entitled to. All dealers get/offer the same manufacturer discounts. The only thing you have to negotiate is the dealer rebate.

I have learned that I am eligible for the other $2000 rebate from BMW and I asked the dealer about it. They said they are all in and are keeping the rebate. In other words they inflated the $7920 discount to include the rebate but when you take this out the discount is actually 8%. They will not budge and got pretty rude about it. Thinking about walking from this deal. I keep reading that other members are getting up to 12% off plus rebates. What do you guys think?

I personally would walk away from 8% off before incentives, especially if they're starting to get rude about it. Hate dealers like that. Give your business to another dealer that will give you a better discount and not act like you're insulting their entire family by asking for more than an 8% discount.

Discounts are regional so you will want to see what other folks in Florida are getting. In some areas an 8% discount would be a great deal in others a mediocre one. Hopefully other Floridians will chime in.

I am on the verge of walking but maybe 8% is good for Florida.

Good point and hopefully some Floridians will chime in on this. Still thinking about walking just over the fact that the sales manager was so rude. Also this car was ordered as well and thankfully I didn't leave a a deposit. Wonder if the allocation of this car could go to another dealer where I could get a better discount. It is in Production begins status week 10 build.

ChickinX5 can you shine some light on this perhaps? Can't remember the details of your deal but it sounded better than this from what I remember.

@Floridaman100, you still have room up to 9.5 to 10% before incentives. I got 9% before , and paul45 bettered it by some. Haven't seen anything above 10% before incentives. Being rude is reason enough to walk away.

I looked at your deal. USAA 2000 + Finance 2000 combination, I am not sure about that. I would say it is going to be tough to get both + 9 to 10% discount.

Both of these rebates are in fact stackable. USAA 2000 back only doesn't apply if I finance with BMW and I am not doing that. The $2000 rebate from BMW is applicable for a cash deal and doesn't exclude USAA. The dealer which is BMW of Sarasota has stated they figured the $2000 into the actual discount and will not budge from that. I spoke with the sales manager which is who I have been dealing with since day 1 but yesterday his attitude was deplorable and he said take it or leave it. They also ordered this car. My trade is another question and I know they are on the high end of actual value. Tough decision but the way I was treated yesterday could be the last straw. This dealer isn't known for great customer service.
