my order is set to be delivered around week 5 or week 6 according to the BMW genius; and i signed up for penfed on december 17th; so my delivery will be right around the time the rebate is supposed to kick in after 60 days. I would love to tell my dealer to hold the car maybe 7 or 8 days for us to sign on it if I can get this rebate, but I'm not going to wait if they keep insisting that they don't want to do the legwork for the rebate or if I'd be ineligible for it (even though I shouldnt be). So for those of you who have gotten your dealer to successfully apply the rebate, would you be so kind to say explicitly exactly what you did to make the process painless? I'm planning on engaging my dealer this week to get him to get started on this becuase i'd prefer the car not to sit on their floor for 7 days if ultimately they just refuse to do it...

edit: my dealer just told me the it will be ready for pick up on feb 12-13 for PCD, and the contract has to be signed 2 weeks prior to that. If PenFed is 60 days there's no way I can get it. oh well, maybe next time.

What was your order date? You can reschedule PCD up to 10 business days (2 weeks) from the first available date.

My order date was 12/9/19. I signed up for PenFed on 12/17/19, which means I'd be eligible on 2/17/19. I cant go up 2 weeks, going up 2 weeks is the last week of february and I have immovable things those two weeks where I cant do the PCD or go down to their dealership to get the car.

I don't even know if I could request the dealership to 'hold' a car till the 17th to take advantage of this rebate which would mean it would be on their lot for maybe 20 days or so?

He also didnt know anything about the PenFed rebate when i mentioned it, and I'm not sure if I want to negotiate them holding this for that many days for them to just simply say they won't do the rebate because they cant key it in properly or make up some excuse not to honor it...

what would you do lol?

I didn't really know anything about this forum till we got shafted by our local dealer in early december. At least with everyone's help I was able to get a deal we liked, and get the BMWCCA thing setup before the new rule change. PenFed would have been nice but I didn't click on the thread till much later thinking it was only 30 days, on well next time I suppose.

Same here....learned A TON on this forum. Obviously understanding a good deal to target has been most helpful (from my pocket’s standpoint) but even just understanding options, trims, features, etc has been super helpful.

yeah not to derail this topic too much but I feel like I owe this forum $500 for everything I've learned here. I asked a ton of questions about options, options that arent even available on any car at the local dealership to test drive and people have been so helpful and insightful. I wouldn't have been able to put my build together if I didn't have all of this information at hand to justify each thing I put on ours (lol at the 10+ page thread on glass controls...). Now that the blue dot keeps moving on the bmw assembly page i'm even more excited.

If you are military, veteran, or affiliated with a military/veteran family, you can enroll at USAA. No wait time, and you get your certificate immediately.

I have a Penfed certificate, and my dealer wasn’t familiar with them, so I signed-up online with USAA and received a certificate.

I'm not, I wish I was or else I would have already signed up with USAA, but thank you. Did your dealer refuse to honor the PenFed certificate?

So for Jan 2020, is the $500 PenFes rebate still available? I will be leasing through BMWFS.

I've been a PenFed member for years. All I can find in their site is the bonus cash offer, which they say doesn't apply when yo go through BMWFS

"Special BMW Incentive offer is valid at any authorized BMW Center in the United States. Cash incentives are not applicable for vehicles leased/financed through BMW Financial Services."

I'll actually answer my own question. When you receive the offer code by Email and click the link to print you'll be presented with the fine print that confirms a $500 rebate when leasing through BMWFS

I thought the Penfed rebate is $2000 if you don’t finance through BMWFS?

Does BMW have any deals for all cash? I saw this deal on my dealer website:

Dealer Allowance: $6,500 Cash Back On Select BMW Models
MANUFACTURER OFFERS
$6,500 cash back
Offer only valid 1/10/2020 through 2/02/2020
Applies to select new 2020 BMW 540i and M550i.
REQUEST MORE INFO VIEW INVENTORY
* Disclaimer(s)
Cash only available on vehicles with 1,000 or fewer odometer miles. Dealer Contribution cashback may not be available in all areas, to all consumers, or to all dealers. Dealers who participate may not be able to contribute the entire cashback amount. See dealer for details.

Does anybody know if this is an all cash deal?

That is correct, the $2,000 is if you don't lease or finance with BMW. There are no incentives for an all cash deal. Most folks choose to finance the minimum amount (most say $7.5k) and then pay it off in three months or so, this way they get BMW's APR credit of $2,000 or $3,000 depending on model.

Is this PenFed code stackable with an OL code (like for example Drive Test to End Hunger)? Do you guys have any experience in combining these codes?

It was in December, see no reason why January it wouldn't be

My dealer has just told me the OL code can't be stacked with the PenFed one. Was he wrong?
