It is a 2019 with August 8, 2019 production, only option I don't have is night vision and full air suspension.
Basically exactly the same here except April 2019 production. They said no updates. Weird.
Your dealers need ISTA 4.21.12 (or later for when this thread is older). My dealer had this problem, figured it out, updated, got it done. Some offence intended as we're all high paying customers, but that's what competent service departments do.
The weird thing is that edofloat went to the exact same dealer I went to and got the update the day before mine was in. They told me no update available. What would make that a thing?

My dealer stated my VIN did not have the 11/2019.xx update available until they got ISTA 4.21.12 in. The previous version was only indicating a 7/2019.xx update for my VIN. It is possible there is some kind of a VIN-based interaction there. So I think the issue is still likely what I asserted: dealer needs to get ISTA 4.21.12 in and installed and try again.

Gotcha. Understood for sure, maybe they're running a slightly previous version that included their VIN and not mine... just annoying when the SA plays dumb as if they don't know what 11.2019 is even when I mentioned another "friend" got it from them the day before.

Interestingly there's no DRL Rear off/on, all I've got is DRL off/on which controls both back and front.

Too soon to assess stability, give me until the end of the week and I'll report back.
Thought I'd give a quick update of how things have gone with 11/2019.34, and so far so good - I actually can't fault this release, at least with the features I use.

I also notice that the Camera view center control display changes to forward when I change gear from R to D, so looks like that issue has been fixed.

Looks like BMW are finally getting their stuff together, 1 year and 4-months since the G05 was released - better late then never I guess.

All they gotta do is get OTA S/W updates going, and we're almost there !

James_G0530d thanks for the update! I have a feeling OTAs are around the corner...being it's the end of the year, and the minor tweaks here and there. They're teasing me with notifications! I keep getting a notification from BMW FS that my bill is ready since I have my account tied to Apple Wallet. It gets me every single time.

We're going to have to deal with this assertion a bit more directly. Seems to me it is broken in 11/2019.40 and I came from 3/2019.45 where it wasn't broken.

Can you please take a short clear video demonstrating what you do and how it works. I'll aim to do the same.

There are so many permutations of rational, irrational, and buggy behaviours with camera view selection that one can't make a blanket statement and have it be clear.

07/2019.63 was the version installed when I took delivery on 12/13. Surprisingly no issues.

Definitely looking forward to OTA.

LexxM3 thanks for starting new iDrive in this forum. Tracking and finding threads of previous versions in the main gets lost.

I agree, I'll take a few shots and post them later today.

Basically when I reverse (gear in R), I can see the rear view from the camera in the boot tailgate. When I immediately put it in D, the front view shows.

To me this is just the natural intuitive behavior you'd expect as you change gears and therefore drive direction.

I will take a shot and report back, that's how I remember it working on Saturday and Sunday.

Video would be best. Video makes it less likely to miss a "natural-seeming" transition that might be critical. A YouTube account, mobile upload using YouTube app, and link to the video in unlisted video configuration are pretty easy and fast.

And while I think I understand what you're describing and yes, of course, it makes perfect sense as to how it should work, none of that has anything to do with BMW design or QA practices at all.

By the way, if it does turn out that your and mine behave differently, besides the slight variance in versions, it may come down to country-specific coding (I would guess an accidental difference). If then you can send me your FA, SVT, and all NCD files, I can try to see if I can find a difference. I have not yet found anything clear against my own working 3/2019.45 files, but still looking.

Just FIY, the R-D rear-front camera auto-switch always worked for me (I'm on 07 still but it worked on 03's too). Even perfectly stopped etc, it never failed. I wonder if there is a 'mode' that has to be set for it to work, and you might have it disabled somehow?
Kinda like the 'auto dipping passenger mirror' that only works if the control switch is in the set to the driver mirror?

Well, so far, all North Americans (US, CA so far) report the R/D bug and all non-NA (UK, AU so far) report it working. Interesting.

Here are my "from P to R sequence" R/D camera switching bugs videos. 2019 BMW G05 X5 on 11/2019.40 aka S18A-19-11-540 software. Canadian configuration, build date April 2019. Sorry for the dust.

Bug 20191216-01: Does not switch to forward camera when placed in Drive (at low speed!):

Bug 20191216-02: Does not switch to forward camera when placed in Drive at low speed, BUT then switches to forward camera as one drives a few 10s of meters or higher speed!

BMW's got some real idiots working on its user-facing UX, software, and QA.

OK, here's my P > D > R > D sequence:

Pic 1 = Car put into D in my garage. As my garage is a confined space, it switches the Front camera on.

I moved forward around 2 metres, then stopped.

Pic 2 = Car put back into R, and as expected I got the Rear view.

Pic 3 = Car put back into D, and it reverts back to the Front Camera view.

Of course the front view disappeared when I fully came out of my driveway and got up to around 15-20kph.

So looks like 11/2019.34 has got it right.

I tried the same thing when I arrived at work this morn, and the camera behaved the same way in the car park.

The most important part is that it seems to default to the auto mode...

I thought for some time that it also doesn’t work for me but then I noticed that for some reason the camera on the right top view is not set for automatic (over the hood) but only for reverse camera. And I can see the same on the your video, see which Camera is selected on James photos?

Did you tried this?

Yes, this has been discussed before. Yes, the actual bug/issue appears to be that it is not on automatic. And yes you can manually set it every time to automatic, but it doesn't remain there next time you cycle, so useless. If it actually stayed in automatic, that would be something, but no, it does not.

Has anyone figured out if the November software update fixes climate control rules during remote start? Curious if the seat heat starts properly with remote start again.

Ha, just posted about that. Seat heat does not work still, but coded automatic steering wheel heating DOES turn on with remote start!

Not sure if it was already mentioned on here, since it's quite the thread...but for your Spotify people, you have it as it's own source when selection your media source. There's another option called "connected audio" or something like that...not sure if anyone knows what that is.

- turns out anti-dazzle didn't get decoded with update, but the auto-lights high-beam/anti-dazzle functions now seem to be more conservative and hence seemed to me to not work initially; but it does work; I still feel I get enough light in all conditions so far, but the system doesn't come on as often and in the areas along my route it used to; didn't think there was any need for changes, but let's call this a draw in the pro/con category for now

- the camera view bug that turned off backup camera when BT-connected phone interrupted with sound (such as a call or Waze directions) seems to have been fixed; that is, backup camera remains on while you're in reverse even if phone interrupts; I am definitely calling that a pro, this was impacting 70% of my drives

- many have reported that ACC with lane tracking is better, less wobble, etc. I haven't found that so far; on my standard commute route, it's confused and wobbly where it always has also been in the past and generally fine elsewhere; a draw
Have you been able to verify that anti dazzle works? I coded anti dazzle back on, and the dashboard now shows the brights going on pretty often. However, i cant seem to tell them difference on the road, as opposed to when i flash my brights manually. I am wondering if the visual part and sensor is working, but I missed something causing it to not actually work.
