Hi all!

I have talked to connected drive reps, BMW assist and directly to the genius team the last 2 days. It seems my idrive software 11/2019.50 has a glitch and I have to go to the dealer to deal with it.

Before I go down that path and lose my mind, here are the two problems, probably related :

#1 In idrive, I go to CAR> SETTINGS> GENERAL SETTINGS> DATA AND DEVICES and see the screen shot attached below. There is no "data Privacy" option! Of course this means I cannot use my remote 3d surround since that is an integral part of setting it up. I might add all other functions of connected drive DO work (gas, miles left, locations, etc) on my iphone X, just no remote view for the obvious reason.

#2 This is just silly. on APPS>INSTALLED APPS I have two apps installed : BMW ASSIST and Personal Assistant. NO other apps. I have watched the video 15 times on how to hit the "option" button while it transfers and updates apps and tells me it is complete, but no new apps show up, no weather app, or anything. I have done that process 20+ times. I have seen on other people's screens where there is a plethora of apps installed.

- I have reset idrive 10+ times
- I have re-installed connected drive 5+ times
- deleted the app, reset my phone, reset the car,
- prayed to gods, and thrown salt.

I am out of options. Does anyone have insight before the dealership takes my car, give me a stripped x3 and tells me in 4 days they can't figure it out?

I am in the same boat, but my software version is 11/2019.34 and I don't have the BMW assist app, only the Personal Assistant

It's ridiculous, no help from assist or genius they had no answer other than reset idrive and re-install app. This is bigger than that. This is missing items and apps that others have on their menu tree in idrive7. weird!

I made an appointment with dealer, they are pretty decent so on short notice I have loaner and can drop off in 2 days.

A full 2 days at dealer. Shop Foreman involved now. Not sure how long this will take but something is definitely wrong. I was also missing multiple menu options like bmw experience, spotify, all apps, and more. They reinstalled all idrive and it did not fix it. weird.

It's my ONLY issue , everything else worked like a dream. Ugh. At least I'm in a stripped down 2020 x5 loaner, I will appreciate my mostly-loaded msport that much more when it get it back.

Thanks for the update...I'm subscribed. I'm in the same boat. This is the only issue I have with my new toy.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing...I ticked off all the Data Privacy options and still can't get to the 3D remote view in my app at all. I'm thinking it might be connected to your location and the local privacy protection laws (Vienna, AT).

Update : now moving up BMW chain for assistance. The have done a program and update and still missing certain options , apps and data privacy.

They solved it. Apparently even though they re-installed the software again, it kept the data files somewhere and they had to manually wipe the data, the corruption was in my profile and the data saved on idrive. Everything works now.

I currently have the exact same issue, albeit it on an X3. Be interested to know if others have the same issue

Hi. I am in the UK and have an M135i that started lising apps and menus about 2 weeks ago. Ended up with 2 apps and no privacy settings menu and a confused dealership, geniuses and BMW. All the usual things tried (software reinstall, idrive soft and hard resets, delete all profile data etc) with no joy. Dud get the news app to come back after talking with ConnectedDrive on phone. Would be good to know more about the manual deleting of corrupt data.

So what I did to fix it back in the day was to do another hard reset ( delete profile from car and reset to factory ) on another day. Then it all appeared again.
