That's too close - it's not going to clear the calipers.

Factory G05 X5 offsets are:

18" - ET44 (Not compatible with M Sport brake option)
19" - ET38
20" - ET35 / ET40
21" - ET37 / ET43
22" - ET37 / ET43

Thank you.

Yes, I found ET45 on 20 inches will be too close

I think 9.5*20 with ET 35 should fit. cannot find any aftermarket with 9*20 ET 35.

ET35 will definitely fit and between ET35-40 should work. There should be some threads in this subforum with forums members and 20" aftermarket winters.

I have 9x20 ET33 and they fit around the M sport brakes. About 12mm clearance.

Auricom I have a similar question.
I am trying to depart from my 21" staggered performance tires (without Msport brakes) for my winter setup. I am trying to do square 265/50R19 with performance winter Pirelli Scorpions.

For the R19 wheel, here's the option I see on tire rack
MSW TYPE 40
19x8
Finish: Machined w/Black Accent
Offset: +45mm

They had 19x9 but they are out of stock. Almost all 19x9 are. Tire rack told me BMW recommends 19x9 since they want to keep it universal for 19 with and without Msport brakes but since I don't have those, 19x8 works perfect.
Do you have a viewpoint on that ? If 19x9 is absolutely necessary then I will have to choose a color I don't like but if required, I can do it if it means safety.

Please let me know.

One issue I potentially see going to 19x8 is that you may not clear the standard brakes since you're reducing the width of the wheel - ET45 + 8" is cutting it close. See attached - ET45 / 9" left and ET45 / 8" right, link: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whe...cl=50mm&sr=0mm

I'm hesitant with ET45 but depending on the wheel design they may clear. Since Tire Rack is providing a recommendation then you should be good.

I go for a set of 9.5*20 ET35 with X-Ice snow tires.
