Made a deal 10/31 with Ohio dealer. Received text from salesman that vehicle was in Production Begins 11/12. Remains there since despite very frequent browser refreshes . BMW estimates completion 12/1.

In regards to the cost factor, the broker got me 6.3% off before any incentives. After applying $3500 finance & loyalty credit the savings add up to 10.4% off. I also just asked the broker to see if I could take advantage of the Test Drive to End Hunger promotion for an additional $1000 off (no answer on that one yet). Post sale, I will also be able to get the $1000 BMW CCA rebate, plus the $7500 federal tax credit. It all adds up to 20.4% off MSRP (not including the test drive promo). I do have to pay the broker $395 for their service, so deduct that and the savings is a little less than 20%. Of course, I have not taken delivery yet so the final verdict is still not in... And full disclosure: I also emailed several dealerships in WA and OR to see if I could get a better deal, and none were able to come close to the broker. I also did not attempt to further negotiate with the broker based on my comparison shopping. |

Hey Mine started on Nov 13th as well, and automated phone service told me estimated completion time is on Dec 3rd. Reading through this forum, looks like most of the folks had their car completed production in less than 2 weeks. Wondering if our cases are delayed or BMW automated phone service was giving an inflated estimate? Btw I am in Boise Idaho, so absolutely no idea about how long it takes to ship it here.

Possibly good news, for me and maybe others if the trend holds. I was initially quoted a completion date of 12/1 but it's been updated to 11/24. Still trying to verify as the automated system may be confusing the "F" in my partial VIN with an "S" - remarkably hard to tell (using an "S" sends me to a person so I am betting it got the "F" when I got the automated reply of completion date change).

Interesting, mine just updated today to show "At the Port", which is 1 step before "In Transit" that it was showing previously. But that actually seems to match what the BMW Genius told me on the phone last week, that the train was scheduled to arrive in CA on 11/23...

End of day update - we made it all of the way to Awaiting Carrier Assignment in one day. BMW Genius just told me that he expects it to leave the facility on 11/27 and estimates less than two weeks for dealer arrival (WA State).
So current complete timeline: • Ordered 10/20 • Sched for Prod 10/30, week 49 • Prod began 11/13 • Estimated completion changed 11/21. Was Dec 2, now Nov 25 per automated 800# • Entered assembly line 11/25 beginning of the day • Awaiting carrier assignment 11/25 end of day I hope that is helpful for anyone else tracking their vehicle. |

Same number but at first, do not select an extension and then it will transfer you to a voiceprompt menu asking you what you want where you can say 'production status'. Then it asks for your prod number, then it gives you an automated update on your status. After that you have the option to ask for and talk to a live customer service person. Maybe there is another way to do it, but that has been my method. I hope that is helpful.

I placed an order on October 21 and it was assembled on November 25. I presume it will be on the way to the dealer in Massachusetts early next week, depending on the holiday schedule for the factory. It was helpful in this forum to find a BMW phone number that I could call to get production status. My dealer salesman hasn’t been very helpful in this regard.

Finally got my production number. Now what is the average waiting time from “order received” to “production begins”?
