Talking 2021 G05 xdrive40i signed, with PenFed incentive

Just want to share another data point using the Penfed incentive, there were quite a few threads recently regarding this topic but I couldn't find a conclusive one that solves all my doubts (so I tried it out myself!). I was able to apply the $3250 bonus cash for purchasing 2021 G05 xdrive40i financed with my own credit union instead of BMWFS nor PenFed. It seems to be still a fairly new thing that the FI manager didn't include it initially because he thought it's a post-sale rebate. It took me a hot sec to sort it out with him. I'm happy with the result though, now waiting for BMW CCA to cut me the $1k check to sweeten up the deal to 17% off

Shoutout to TurtleBoy and Auricom , I finally decided to drop the hammer after seeing your posts in this thread: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1771691

One final nitty-gritty detail: this incentive is considered bonus cash, which means it's a direct reduction on top of MSRP, unlike the BMWFS incentive, which you still need to pay tax for. The sale tax is calculated after it's applied along with the dealer discount, at least in California. This may shake off another few hundred bucks off your final bill

WTH 17% off. You are making a Guinness world record by scoring such a good deal.

Lot or custom order?

17% inclusive of everything? rebates, incentives, CCA, Penfed, Fleet, UDE ??

MSRP and final cap cost?

Need your dealer contact. My dealer is fucking playing BS games with me.

Congratulations. If you ordered hopefully the wait won't be too long. Good luck, enjoy and be safe.

17% could only be possible if you combined PenFed with the APR cash or if you got an amazing deal up front. I had one dealer tell me that the APR cash was combinable with PenFed but several say it was not. Hopefully they don't run into issues when they try applying everything. Either way, awesome work on your deal!

As I and others have posted many times, PenFed can definitely be combined with APR cash but the incentive drops to $500.

As far as 17% off, many folks here have achieved that level when they take into account all of the different incentives.

Makes sense. I think the BMWCCA incentive is what got them to the finish line.

On cash/finance deal, is it fair to say pre rebates/incentive discount is 12-13% since penfed cash incentive alone is ~3K. I was not tracking cash/finance incentives so don’t know correct numbers.

I’m only doing lease. Only loyalty and whatever BMW come with in Dec.

Yes and of course it all depends on what the original MSRP was since the incentives are fixed. The higher the MSRP is the smaller the effect the incentives will have on the over all discount percentage.

For example, looking at an MSRP of 65k versus 85k with both deals receiving 10% discount before incentives. The incentives would be:

PenFed: 3,250
Loyalty: 1,000
BMWCCA: 1,000

Total incentives: 5,250

MSRP: 65,000
Discount: 6,500
Total Disc&Incent: 11,750
Combined Disc %: 18.1%

MSRP: 85,000
Discount: 8,500
Total Disc&Incent: 13,750
Combined Disc %: 16.2

No, we have not seen many pre-incentive discounts in that range, none lately the I can remember. In general it is not helpful to try and compare discount percentages when incentives are included since they can vary for each person and due to what I mentioned above. It really isn't even helpful to compare dealer discount percentages between different regions since they can vary.

It is good to have a wide range of information but that is all it is since it won't necessarily apply to any one specific situation. A 6% dealer discount can be terrible in one area and a great deal in another. It is then up to the potential buyer to choose to pursue other avenues for making an out of area purchase taking not account the extra costs and potential problems associated with that.

Totally agreed with your points above!

That's' why I always negotiate discounts before any rebates, incentives, fleet, UDE etc. since they change +/- every month and region to region. Historically the west region has the least amount of incentives available. The last time the same thing happened, When I booked the F15 45e order in 2017, NY already has 3-4K of EV rebate available in Oct but I didn't see the same EV rebate until Dec on the west coast.

Lease hacker and other posting show that 11-12% before MSRP is doable with little negotiation if you are able to pursue multiple out of area volume dealers.

Just FYI, I already have two cars ordered to replace two outgoing leases. The car arrived this weekend. Now the dealer is playing BS games. He is fucking fooling himself. I don't give a damn if he has a custom car which I ordered. There are close to 1000's dealers in the country and my old cars came from the other coast (NY) of the country.

So back in the game again, probably go with 5.0 instead of 40i now.

^ I don't want to hijack this thread but have to ask, what type of games is your dealer playing? I thought you had your deals in place when ordered.

I told him I want X % off MSRP before ordering. Didn't say a thing..yay or neh. Previously I got 3 cars from him.

Placed the order and my understanding was that he is good with what I asked for X % wise before rebates/incentives and we will figure out the rebate part in Dec during delivery. Sent me txt yesterday "Can't do it"

I told him GFU. I Don't care. I can get any other car if I want. One call to BMWFS and both leases extended to another 3 months from Dec.

Currently in discussion with few other volume dealers in SoCal and other states. Should be finalized in a day or two.

Oh okay, I thought your deals were set when you ordered. Hopefully you can do something good with another dealer. Don't forget to finalize the discounts prior to ordering this time.

Yeah, it includes PenFed, CCA and dealer discount of 11%. MSRP is 72k+.

two scenarios:

1) Penfed $3,250 and pay cash or finance on your own or with Penfed

or

2) BMW $2,500 finance bonus (0.9% for 60 months) + $500 Penfed = $3,000 total with 0.9% financing

Unless you can find a CU who can offer 0.9% or better, isn't it better to take option 2?

I am faicng the same option, I like penfed $3500 but for $500 less incentive you get a MUCH better APR that will save you $2000 over the life of the loan. I will certainly opt for the low APR afterall.

Just run the numbers given your scenario. If you are financing 10k the answer may be different than financing 70k.

It's actually only a $250 difference, not $500. I think I'm going to do the lesser of the two incentives with a 0.9% rate through BMW FS.
