Would the open intake only suck hot air at a standstill but once moving its getting fresh cool air? I guess unless your drag racing then it would not matter. I much rather enjoy putting the pedal down after im rolling along in 2nd gear where hot air would not be an issue.

Its a trade off higher temps higher flow vs lower temps lower flow... which would yield more power? Its an endless debate... how much power is lost as temps increase? How much power is lost as flow is restricted? Where is the ideal middle ground?

A fan is place on top of the engine in both cases and all GIAC dyne runs to ensure no rising of heated air.
