Anti-Dazzle and Software Update
For anyone that updates their software to 3/2020.40 or above, you must do the following to activate anti-dazzle:
(1) Remove 5AP and VO Code BDC, HU_MGU, Kafas and both FLMs; and (2) FDL Code the following in Kafas 40F9: COUNTRY_VARIATION Europe_RC [01] C_FLA_BS_ENTER_THRESH Rest of world [03] C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH: Rest of world [02]

No telling. Most G05 users appear to have needed to. Not sure about other series.

To be clear, you do not need to write the FA to your car in order to VO Code. In fact, doing so may interfere with your ability to receive Software updates. Accordingly, after you change the FA (ie remove 5AP) go directly to the Expert Mode and Code the needed modules. Don't write it to the car as the video suggests. This is not needed.

Uhoh, I went ahead and completed the instructions above for removing 5AP. Hope I didn't screw anything up. I guess I am confused with the instructions of "VO Code BDC, HU_MGU, Kafas and both FLMs." Do what exactly? Remove 5AP from each of those like in the SALAPA Element? Change from InAktiv to Aktiv for each for some ecu file called Anti-Dazzle or its code name equivalent? Sorry in advance. I did find the below by going into Kafas 40F9 by using the search field. I guess you would change the Werte value in C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH: Rest of world [02] (My car in ENTER_THRESH was already at [03] the EXIT_THRESH was [03] too.) FDL Code the following in Kafas 40F9: COUNTRY_VARIATION Europe_RC [01] C_FLA_BS_ENTER_THRESH Rest of world [03] C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH: Rest of world [02] |

After you have removed 5AP, do the following:
(1) Go back to Expert Mode (2) Click on Coding (3) Click "Read ECU" (4) Right Click on the ECU titled BDC_Body3 and select "Code". You need to right click on the master folder, not the CAFD file underneath you select when selecting for FDL coding. (5) Do the same procedure for KAFAS, HU_MGU and both FLM ECUs. Please note this will remove any coding you have done previously in these files. You will have to redo any FDL coding you like in those modules after you complete this procedure. As far as having written the FA to your car, you can add 5AP back through the same procedure you followed. Make you you wait to add 5AP back AFTER you have done the above. DO NOT code the ECUs again after you do and everything should be fine.

You are not supposed to do anything with those files other than select "Code" as described. The only "file" that needs additional FDL coding is Kafas as described. After you hit "Code" on the Kafas file, you will have to revise the three specific files mentioned previously.
That's it. You are making this more difficult than it needs to be.

When you VO code you're essentially tricking the car's computer into thinking it has options that you didn't order. So for this case you're changing the FA by removing 5AP. That tricks the car into thinking you have anti dazzle. However now you have to update the ECUs that handle antidazzle because as far as they know you still don't have it. So when you go into expert mode and code the right ECUs they will update with the antidazzle configurations. You want to CODE not CODE NCD. You want to make sure you're coding the ECU and not the CAFD file. When you code the ECU it reverts it back to stock configuration. Since you removed 5AP the car will think your stock configuration is antidazzle.

So I have completed:
Remove 5AP (4) Right Click on the ECU titled BDC_Body3 and select "Code". You need to right click on the master folder, not the CAFD file underneath you select when selecting for FDL coding. (5) Do the same procedure for KAFAS, HU_MGU and both FLM ECUs. However when I try to complete the below the Edit is greyed out so I cannot change the Werte values. KAFAS [40F9]: COUNTRY_VARIATION Europe_RC [01] C_FLA_BS_ENTER_THRESH: Rest of world [03] C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH: Rest of world [03] C_FLA_CC_MESSAGE_3: no_CC_message [00] C_FLA_US_SENSITIVITY_MODE: Normal [00] I have have: E-Sys 3.33.0 64bit E-SysX 64bit 2.0.5.1 IspiHostAdmin 2.0.4.5 IspiHost 2.4.7.7 PSdZData_Lite_4.24.12 |

You don't want to change the Werte values. You need to change the cell above Werte values. After you change that the Werte values will automatically change.

Suggest removing the coding before the next software update.
Notice of Rule Change by NHTSA granting APPROVAL of Full AFS and ADB including voluntary retroactive activation will occur in October. |

Nearly there.
I have done everything "After you hit "Code" on the Kafas file, you will have to revise the three specific files mentioned previously." Except the last sentence. I checked the values after coding and the only one that is different and needs revising to [03] is C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH: Rest of world (mine shows Werte =02 How do I revise. When I right click the Edit , it is greyed out so I cannot change it to 03 |
