Dealer change the front grille for the new car

We realize that dealer change front grille from regular silver one to a matte black one for the new x5.
Can we still buy it? Is that any problem?

That should not be an issue. The black grill can be ordered from the factory like that or easily done afterwards.

do you know why dealer do that? It is strange that dealer will make such a change without an request or payment from a customer. BTW, the black one is an option that we need to pay more for.

I ordered my vehicle with the "blacked out" look... pretty sure i paid extra for it...

M-Sport Pro package contains a lot more stuff than just black front grille.

When I saw the pics first time, I thought it got M pro pkg because the black grille. But it did not have the black rear diffuser, that confused me. I asked the dealer, they claimed to change that for "good looking" and no extra pay.

It seems like a "too good to be true" deal. I wonder something is off there? But the deal is really good, I dont want to miss it.

Should I skip it?

Dealer never be honest and they tried to hide the window sticker. So wired.

In US, M sport package doesn't come with black out grille. You need to get extended shadow package, which is not cannot be order along. It must be under M sport pro package. This is a factory option. did it make into the monroney?

Is it possible the original grill was damaged in shipping or at the dealer? They could have done the swap to replace the damaged grill and black was what was available.

That is definitely a party foul and would throw a huge red flag at least IMO. That said if you purchase anyway there are no issues if the dealer did it for whatever reason, e.g., original grill damaged as someone called out on the thread. Did you order or is this just a spec car on the dealership's lot?

No it did not listed in monroney. That is why I am worried.

We did not order it and found it in the lot. We plan to change the grille and diffuser anyway, so my wife is kind of like it. To me it is indeed a red flag. Can I bring it to other dealer for checking?

If you like it as well as the wife it shouldn't be an issue. However, the dealer needs to disclose the original window sticker which it sounded like they didn't want to. That's the red flag.
