50e MIL
Well...
At 9,547 miles, the MIL has come on. 😯 Zero issues up to this point! I am taking in for service this am. I'll advise on what the dealer says. Hopefully it's not related the issues that the other 50e's have been having with the HV system. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 |

You are due for an oil change anyway. Good luck.

The most common issue is a hv cooling valve, I’d say it is more cooling system than HV system and at this point we can say it seems resolved, just a bad part need to be changed.

According the dealer, the issue was the HV battery unit refrigerant shutoff valve (see pic).
He goes on to say in the video, that's it's a common failure for these cars and this fix should last. If it throws another fault, they will proceed with replacing the CCU (Common Charging Unit). Likely picking up tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 |

I'm surprised the valve stuck after over 9k miles. This changes my take on the likely root problem. I had been thinking contamination in the system or refrigerant - a production issue. But this now raises valve design questions. I'm just over 9k miles on my 50e, and no such issues. Pure driving pleasure so far, but I'll raise my guard a bit based on this.

I got my first valve CEL this week after over 3,000 miles. Of course I had multiple other CELs that were due to other things before that... LOL.
