Easiest install I've ever done. I hate installing haha. No ports or anything. Even with the rubber mat the sound transfers through well. Signal came from the Technic PnP add a sub harness, has connectors for signal wires to LOC. Battery is in the back under the plastic cover.
Ok last question, I got my PnP harness but I think there's some quality issues. One of the pins is in the wrong place and the colors for the wire don't match up. It looks like yours are color matched to the harness colors. Is that the case or does it matter?

I had some confusion as well when I got mine but I could never get Technic to answer any of my questions. May as well try reaching out to them.

Post a pic, I'll see if I can make some sense of it (unlikely lol). Not sure if there's a difference in f95 vs g05 B&W; I'd imagine there shouldn't be an issue with the harness.

Do you have any pictures of the actual install? How hard was it to remove the coverings to get access to where you plug in the harness?

It's a brand new car and afraid of tearing into it if the dissassembly required is hairy!

Oops, didn't notice this.

The pictures posted pretty much show the extent of the install.
It's very simple; coverings are held in place by plastic push pins to get the battery.
The wiring harness is extremely accessible.
Other than that it's just a few bolts to connect to the battery.

For clarity's sake:

Thank you so much! Taking delivery this week hopefully, and will attempt the install in a few weekends.

I got the Technic harness + a Rockford Fosgate P300-12 powered sub.

Out of curiosity what is your music source?

Are you playing high quality compressed loess files like FLAC or maybe Tidal HiFi versus compressed lossy Spotify or iTunes? It makes a tremendous difference. Your music will come alive if you are not.

I used to love throwing in my Led Zeppelin II
CD into my B&O in my F86 and letting it rip with amazing quality, but alas that won't happen in my F95.

I use Tidal HiFi for better streaming sound. Instant upgrade.

100% iTunes I'll have to give it a try; thanks for the info.

OMG. You won't believe the difference. More than the subs. Compressed iTunes and Spotify files sound like crap. I mean really bad. Especially noticeable with great HiFi systems like yours.

Might want to flatten out all EQ settings and ensure any loudness EQ is off.

Did the same thing as OP!

- Technic PNP harness + WavTech Link2 LOC
- RF P300-12 powered sub

Install was super super easy, the harness installs in 5 minutes and easy access on the side panel in the trunk. I took the longest routing the power/ground wires from the battery area to the trunk, then routed smaller AWG cables from the amp bracket to power the LOC + remote.

Sounds sweet - really fills up the bass!

Garage List
2022 bmw  [0.00]
[QUOTE=irpirate;28157351]As amazing as the B&W system is, the low end was a bit lacking for me(basshead). The goal of the install was to retain all cargo space and the spare. Initially I looked at spare tire powered subs but there just wasn't enough depth to be able to close cargo floor while keeping the spare; so I started looking at powered underseat subs. I settled on Kicker mostly because I like the company. Pretty straight forward install, all in all took 3-4 hours.

Kicker Hideaway 10
Technic PnP add a sub harness

Not quite Sema quality lol but I'm just a dude in a garage who likes bass.
Foam insert removed, all the spare tools went into a tool bag.
Maybe someday I'll clean up the wiring if I care enough.

Happy camper for now

Where did you put the amp and what did you ground?

Nice, should be bumpin now!
Is the enclosure secured to anything?

The hideaway is a powered unit, amp is built in. Grounded to the factory battery ground (essentially battery -).

Looking to do exactly the same on my G05 using the PnP add a sub harness w/LOC150i option and Kicker powered sub.

Questions: How do I connect an audio RCA signal to the Kicker's amp? How do I get power and ground to the Kicker's amp? Does PnP add a sub harness' provide the signal, power and ground? Or do I need to run wires under the car to the battery under the hood?

I added a JL Audio Powered Sub to my F95. The Technic PnP harness w/LOC150i will have your RCA inputs which will connect into your Kicker powered sub giving you your signal. You will need to purchase an amplifier wiring kit to power your powered sub. I purchased an 8-gauge amplifier wiring kit from Crutchfield.

Assuming the G05 is the same as the F95, the car battery is in the back. So all you need to do is run the red power wire from that kit from the car battery to your powered sub. And then run the black ground wire from that kit from your powered sub to somewhere in the trunk area.

Thank you! Did you find a JL that would fit in the spare tire area, or is it taking up a little cargo space?

Mine is not in the spare tire area but one that is the cargo space. I usually don’t use much of the cargo space but if I did, disconnecting and reconnecting the powered sub is a simple task.

I had the JBL spare tire sub in my F85. I had to remove the strut on the spare tire cover to get it to fit.

Have not tried fitting it in the F95 because I'm lazy about wiring the gain control to the front.

I opted to remove the spare tire and install the JBL Stadium BassHub powered by the JBL Club A600 600W mono amp. The Technic PNP - Bowers and Wilkins (Option 6F1) Add-a-Sub Harness for RAM/Booster audio systems - LOC-150: Gain Adjustment. Does and amazing job to fill in super clean bass and when the gain is turned up it literally shakes your soul. No regrets sacrificing my spare tire for the super stealth setup.

Doesn’t the JBL BassPro Hub fit in the spare? Isn’t the JBL BassPro powered and not in need of an added amp?

Where did you get the LOC-150 for B&W and it is the one optioned in the link for $155 (meant for everyone who purchased one) and other items? Links

Anyone try this subwoofer? Would it work (Crutchfield says it is a fit)?

Yes, that JBL BassPro you have linked is a powered subwoofer so no additional amp is needed. And yes, that is the add-a-sub harness you will need (just ensure you pick the one compatible with the B&W which I believe is the one you linked).

You probably know this already, but if not, you’ll also need a 10-gauge amp wiring kit as noted in the Crutchfield listing for that sub. There’s a couple of links to buy that within that listing as well.
