My dealer installed 11/2021.40 in early January while they worked on other issues.

I got the notice this am. I just tried it out and the sunroof will not close unless the keyfob is inside the vehicle. But I'm sure I'll have to go to the dealer anyway. Joy..

If you have comfort access and press and HOLD the lock button on the remote, in addition to locking the doors and tailgate, it will close the windows and the roof, or at least the user's manual says that's supposed to happen. Sounds like the FEDS don't like that, but it's been that way for years. I checked the NHTSA website, and mine does not show on the recall, but I'm not sure how fast that gets updated.

Mine shows on the recall tool. I wonder if the dealer is really programming it or rather just installing the latest iDrive update that contains the fix.

Yep I got that around 4 weeks ago, same release (11/2021.50). Upgrade was seamless & smooth, all good.
One thing I have noticed is on Navigation, the positon of my car on the map seems to lag where I actually am. In fact I've missed a few turns going places because of this. Anyone else notice this? |

I updated few days ago....
First day: The screen when you put the car in R was switched (left-right). The lines by the car were off to one side. I parked and walked out to find that one side was on the line while it showed I was centered. ASS was turned off. I notice the car drives different in a positive way. Not sure if this is subjective. I also feel ASS is not as noticeable as before. Much smoother. Stopped updating myBMW Second day: Video in motion is turned off. Five blinks is still on. I don't code a lot so I don't know what else it would turn off. The screen reversed back to normal and lines are correct. myBMW gets updated. |

I think it may take some time for all of the various software modules to eventually sync themselves. The reason I say this is I did a few changes with BimmerCode, and the X5 reported a daylight lamp fault. I hit the start/stop button, and did an iDrive reset, and it was still there. After driving it later once, it was there, but after that, it was gone, and didn't show up in the status in the X5 or on the app any more.

I'm about to buy a 2021 X5, the dealer still has it and before I buy it I would like to ask them what software levels are in the car so I can compare them to the latest levels.
So, .. .. 1. is 11/2021.50 the very latest version of iDrive software for the US? 2. What other software is there and what is the latest version for it? I seem to remember there is software that is responsible for the basic functioning of the car but can't recall what its called. |

It should be an 03/2022.xx version. There is no other software with a version on it that needs to be updated. The Apps and Services updates are applied regularly and don't have a version. The Maps should be the same way. Since you are taking the vehicle from Texas to NY you may want them to update the main map to the latest version so you don't have to go through all of the region updates.

Might be slightly off topic but has anyone coded their car using Bimmercode and updated before?
I'm trying to figure out if I can use backup made by the app once the remote update wipe out the changes I made. Or does remote update not touch the changes? |

The coding will be wiped from every ECU that is touched. Not all updates touch each one but always plan on recoding after an update. Do not use the backup to do that recoding since things can be changed with the update. What I do is keep a spreadsheet of the coding and just redo it all after each update.
