It is possible to work by removing the module after removing only the wheel house.

Small space but possible
interesting, defiantly a good news!

I was replacing the headlights so in my case it was necessary to remove bumper as well,

maybe its not needed for replacing modules but I recall everything is very tight even with headlight in your hand so its gotta be tricky and might be easer to remove the bumper which isn't super hard
The bumper can be removed and installed comfortably

haha boneca , I did the same exact thing!!! only mine were LED headlights, but I swapped for the shadowline ones, assuming maybe we got them from the same guy in the Carolinas

mura666 , definitely good to know that it can be done without removing the bumper because that was a ROYAL pain in the ass to do, I am sure boneca will agree lol

boneca you want to be the guy to try this out since I dont even have a lift or a good jack at this point, and I sure as heck do not want to take off the front bumper again.

I'm positive I will try this out, but it will need to wait until Spring time for me, I also don't have a lift or even garage, I do most of my car's work (mods) at my storage facility

also New England weather doesn't help here

Totally get it. Well I did the headlight swap a few months back in my garage which was at 95 degrees lol. I dreaded everything but it was too late to go back lol

Now trying to sell my original LED headlights has been a bit of a pita too lol

are u sure we are not related in some weird way

same story with my install

I did not try to sell my original OEM headlights yet, didn't think it would be such an issue, they seems to be in high demand, I guess it could be because urs are not Laser and also depends on price you asking. I typically try to keep all my original parts for the life of my ownership

I will probably wait a bit for the ordering the new modules, looks like they have 60 days return policy and based on timing I will not be attempting the replacement until March/April but at the same time I might, they not that expensive and who knows if they stock up well on these.

Also been thinking about additional mod while at it so we'll see

Haha, I actually do the same usually with all my OEM parts, but just trying to recoup some $$$ from the headlights, though I think I got them at a fairly good price, so just trying to get back the same amount. And yeah, the laser's are worth more than the led version, but I see lasers go for around 3k on ebay, I am trying to get at least 2400 for the led ones, considering they come complete with all modules :-/

I may order these today. I chatted with the seller and he said that for the RGB version, there is a wire that would need to go out through the seal of the module, which makes me very worried about condensation getting in, but he assures that it will not happen, but again... i am not too sure how I feel about it, especially with these new shadowline headlights. But I definitely do not want to be stuck with just yellow in case I want to go back to the stock white. Wish there was a way to switch just between those 2 colors at least... I just see red and blue as being something you'd get pulled over for with impersonation charges lol Though green may be fun at times lol

Ugh... if it wasnt for having to pull the bumper, I'd order these already. Since i didnt take the front wheels off when i pulled the bumper, it was such a pita to get to the side screws, I feel like that is the biggest pain, but the whole process as a whole is a pain when you are a one person team lol I had to use boxes to prop up the bumper when putting it back on =X

Thanks for posting these, reminds me of my Passat

I like how he tested the wiring for waterproof

I have ordered the Yellow modules, I know I won't be switching my setting often or at all, also I prefer to have cleaner install on new car, will report back when installed, even though it might be few months.

yeah that waterproof test does NOT bring out the confidence in me lol
Then again... the modules are on the underside or back of the headlight if memory serves me right, which should hopefully not get any water at all, but then again.. who knows :-/

Well - after much thought I decided to invest my money in a different mod. Good to see this chain has taken off!

Man, you guys beat me to it.
I got them since last week, just haven't said anything because I want to test them first and make a proper car specific installation instruction.

Ben, which ones did you get? the Yellow or RGB?
Please let us know when you have the instructions, looking forward to see what the correct way to install these would be on the G05

we here are pretty quick Ben

looking forward for those instructions myself! even if you will do the RGB I think they will be applicable to single color as well with less steps to follow!

I have both Yellow and RGB.
But, I will install RGB on my (wife's) car. So, I can prank her with pink DRL, lol.

Not feeling it at all, BMW lighting engineers made sure that DRL and main headlight LED color temperature matches, and the aftermarket lights just cheapen the look.

Yellow fog lights would be nice, but M cars do not have fog lights.
