Need to get rears done on my M50i. Not doing the dealership thing. My fiance had some work done on her mercedes at Texas German Autohaus in town and was pleased. I called to see what they would charge and they will not give estimates over the phone. So, I emailed them and they say I must bring it in so they can see if "that's all it needs" - I asked for a price for pads only and pads + rotors but they wouldn't do it. - major turn off.

Also have tried eurocar in the past for a different car... never going back there. Had a low coolant warning and they quoted $2k worth of work to replace a bunch of stuff and I literally topped the coolant myself and never had another issue on the car.

Any other shops inside the loop in Houston?

Out of curiosity, why not a dealer? In many instances they are price competitive, what pricing did you get from them?

Lol, I guess I am just jaded.... haven't even called them based on past pricing experience. Will give them a call so I at least have something to compare to.

Nothing wrong with that, many people are. I thought maybe you got an outrageous quote from them. Some dealers really gouge but some are also pretty close to a good independent. Depending on how old a vehicle is they also sometimes offer specials.

J & T Automotive in Spring Branch is very good on BMW's and Mercedes. Have had all our out-of-warranty work done there. Reasonable and responsive, and they text and email. BMW West is also very good but they are pretty far out towards Katy.
