I really haven't found a practical opportunity to use ETJA, even on a daily urban commute. Divided highways we got - but even with bumper-to-bumper traffic, the traffic flow eventually - quickly - exceeds 40 mph turning it off. Maybe when I lived in DC, but even then the Beltway would (between complete stalls) fitfully get up over 40 mph. Would be more useful, IMO, if the top limit was 50 or even 60 mph, but I suppose might defeat the purpose.

I used ETJA daily pre-Covid to commute to Bethesda, MD from Old Town, Alexandria. Works extremely well and takes the monotony out of crawling in back to back traffic. ETJA was active primarily between 495 Tysons/Dulles Toll exits and crossing Cabin John bridge.

Waldorf, MD to the Pentagon. I'm sure it would have worked sporadically, just seems like the 40 mph limit is arbitrary and limiting. Hardly works at all here on the prairie.

Wondering it is has to do with Automatic Lane Change assist which is only available at 40MPH+

I agree with you that it's feature that would get rarely used by owners living in areas where one gets to enjoy the open roads.

My home away from home. Aside from the commute, frequent camping trips to Site R, bar brawls in Checkmate, falling aircraft, 14h days, working in a 75-year-old, 30 acre building with 25,000 of your closest friends, no elevators and 15 billion steps, it wasn't bad. Much. But don't ask my wife.

Hi, I wanted to confirm few things ...
my G07 with 04/2019 Build and Latest software 07-2020.35 and it has S5AU and S5AR when I looked at the esys coding I saw below settings

HU_MGU\Lenkassistent_DCS as "gen_1"
SAS3\C_HOO_Vorhanden as "UNK_PARAM_0"

I changed SAS3\C_HOO_Vorhanden to "vorhanden". now i am wondering what is correct value for G07 to get eTJA ?

Please let me know I really appreciate your help.

Thank You.

No I believe you... wanted to understand vorhanden vs UNK_PARAM_0 which one is better. if some expert here might know both settings ...

as in some other forum they were mentioning, handoff is possible in all roads with all speeds with below settings...

HU_MGU\Lenkassistent_DCS enabled
SAS2\C_HOO_Vorhanden: vorhanden
C_STA_ALC_handsoffgestchwausschaltgrenzeKmh
C_STA_ALC_handsoffgestchwausschaltgrenzeMph
C_STA_ALC_handsoffgestchweinsschaltgrenzeKmh
C_STA_ALC_handsoffgestchweinsschaltgrenzeMPh

but I can't find C_STA_ALC_ in G07

I already told you - Launcher Pro does not map those values correctly and you already had the correct configuration for your vehicle as BMW intended.

What you are looking at is not what I see and not what BMW would see if looking at your codes using a fully mapped esys, so why did you change the values?

Not everything needs to be coded. You have eTJA already - all you risk doing is breaking it.

Put it back to what it was, upgrade to esysx, then take another look. You'll see exactly what those codes actually are.

I don't fully know the difference between the 2 codes as we dont get eTJA in the UK even with coding so cant test. 99.9% of this forum will not know what the differences between the codes are. They changed from standby to no_standy (or vice-versa) for build versions dated 07/2019.

I helped Trojanlaw identify and use the newer settings and he reported an improvement, but he'll need to clarify exactly how it was improved.

Of course you cant because those are not codes for a G07. More likely the G30.

Total hands free driving on the G05/G07 is not possible via coding, which I guess is why you are randomly trying to change trimmed UNKNOWN PARAMETER codes.

This is why BMW need to and will prevent future coding capability.

I have an early model 2019 G05, I don’t have eTJA, is there a way to code eTJA using BimmerCode?
Appreciate any help.

As bay area traffic returns to pre-pandemic levels I've been getting more opportunities to use ETJA. I have to say this is a really good feature and takes a lot of stress out of commuting in heavy traffic.

I've had a couple of occasions where the car was in ETJA mode for a little while and then dropped out to normal DA but when traffic worsened it re-engaged ETJA automatically which is nice.

My commute is about 16 miles mostly on highway 101 and a bit on 880. One day I still managed 22 mpg on the commute when a portion was done with ETJA on. That will probably be a record for me as I'm finding the 16 mile trek back down 880 and 101 is taking up to 40 minutes now with accidents happening more frequently. On those days it's a lot harder to get more than 16 mpg

ETJA won't stay active when I need to change lanes for a merge and I find that DA doesn't like exit lanes and pulls the steering. Still I think ETJA is a great feature on these cars!
