In case you missed it in a sales thread where it was mentioned, BMW has decided not to go back to the normal August SOP and the start of MY25 will be April.

I wouldn't think so. 50e's are still being built and the orders that were pushed back went to Feb and March.

Yes, I was surprised by that. All along it seemed like it was going to be reverting back to the August SOP. A few people posted that their dealer told them MY25 was starting in April but I was doubting that was the case. I checked with a contact this morning and April it is.

I would absolutely cancel my 2024 order and replace one for 2025.

Great. I have a 2024 order waiting for production. Cancelling now means waiting about 3 more months. I don't really want to do that.

A newer MY sounds nice, but for those with orders in, it doesn't sound like any changes for MY25 so not a material difference IMO.

Should be within the next month or so since the allocations at the end of Feb/Beg of March will be for the new MY.

I think it is! Priority 3 2024 X5s built in March wouldn't be at the dealers until they were "last years" models. Building Priority 1 2024 X5s in March makes sense for BMW and the dealers. Thinking that the delay in 50e priority 1 builds to March may have nothing to do with the CEL/Drivetrain issues.

I wonder what options would be added/deleted from my24 to my25. Maybe different interior/exterior color choices as well. Maybe the price would go up as well.

Another price increase 1 year after a big hike, with inflation (and demand) cooling, would be a kick in the nuts. These are already priced on par with GLEs, which used to command a premium. Eager for details!

That is an interesting way to look at the Priority 3 orders and it makes sense from a timing point of view.

Check with your dealer and see what they say. Perhaps they will cancel yours and give you priority on the next MY allocation.

While it will be a previous MY in a short time it likely will not effect value or anything in the long run.
