Sorry to revive a potentially dead thread but just came across this issue myself. 21s looked great but I bought the car in Florida and moved to Olympic coast in Washington.

I chose to stagger 275/40 and 285/40 because they are within 1% rotation rate (7 revs per mile and .3" diameter).

Haven't noticed anything weird and I'm keeping all 4 tires between ~38-40psi. The rears wear fast on xDrives so theory lends me to think they'll close the rotation gap over the life span. When they're up for changing I might swap out the wheels because I'll be out of warranty be then.

I gave myself a headache on this topic and finally decided on the Toyo Proxes in factory 21" sizes. Will be using my stock 20" wheels and run flats for winter.

How do you like them (Proxes)?

Seeing if I can get some opinions. From the factory our MY22 45e came with 21" Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 SUV HRS tires, and was going to go with the same setup again, but I see there is Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV ZP available now. I'm not well versed on tires, and wanted to get some opinions on which one looks better from the stats below.

The section width and tread width are larger on the Hankook's, but not sure what that plays into performance wise.

Left column:
  • Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 SUV HRS
Right column:
  • Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV ZP

What brand tires? I’m in Florida but want all seasons. I hate the runflats.

I've been thinking the same about these tires. Unfortunately, they seem to be sold out everywhere. So, I'll try to get them or the Pilot Sport 5s next year assuming they'll come in 21s with the same spec as the staggered ones. The Continental Premium Contact 6s that came as stock on my vehicle are just about the most awful tires I've ever had. So much so, that we've stopped using the X5 in the summer and prefer using the Q5 or the Tesla for longer commutes.

The Hankooks have been quiet for the most part, and handling is pretty good. I just hear bad things about the Pirelli tires and wanted a summer tire. Being in South Texas, it doesn't get cold often anymore, and we've got a 2023 Toyota Tundra to use now if the weather is crappy in the winter.

I have just ordered Michelin Primacy Tour AS from Americas Tire.

275/45/21 front
315/40/21 rear

They didn’t object to non-OEM size (I deliberately brought it up). They also mentioned that Mercedes uses tgis size on a GLE and confirmed that as long as the front and rear diameter is within 1% it shouldn’t affect the xDrive system.

Hi all. Looking for a set for my 21" wheels. Found really cheap Yokohama ADVAN Sport V105 in factory size 275/40/21 and 315/35/21. All 4 tires will cost 695$. I was wondering, can it be so cheap? What's the catch?

Can you post a link to the source that's selling all four tires at that price?

Interesting.

A few negative reports on BBB on them. Some good reviews on them elsewhere though.
