This seems like a trick question..... X6M is ugly and has less space... To me why buy a big vehicle in that case.. But since I needed the room and space I went X5M.... Just my opinion on the looks

Same mindset here. I bought the X5MC because I needed the space and was willing to accept the higher, heavier compromise. I don't understand those who choose this higher chassis for coup spacing with the X6M. I'd get an M5 at that point and love it.

Unpopular opinion but I think the X6 is gorgeous, also just may be a grass is greener on the other side but like all good wives and kids; they remind you to just get the extra space! We went with the X5MC and couldn’t be happier!

I actually like the X6 better. Has a bit more "style ". You do give up about an inch of head and leg room in the back, as well as some trunk space. All of which I can live with. If space is more important to you than the X5 is the clear choice.
Ps I am excited that individual colors are now available for the X5 and X6 as well as the X7 👍🏻 |

The x6m doesn't make sense with regards to luggage practicality, rear seat comfort etc.
I do prefer its styling over the x5m. I don't have other passengers with me for 99% of the time and just like having a large SUV that doesn't look like anything else on the road to haul me and my backpack. But, I'm also on the m8 side of the M5 vs m8 argument with regards to bang for buck and practicality so there's that.

Has anyone noticed that the X5M's and X6M's don't share any body panels, with the exception of the hood maybe?

I really like the looks of f95 especially how it flows overall front to back, and what appears to be more overall space in the interior?
However, I settled for f96 as I only have 68” of clearance under my two post lift.. I do love the front fascia better on f96 than f95 but the rear of f96 has yet to fully grow on me along with body styling connecting to rear.. I think once it’s lowered a bit it will look much better.. |

I'm in the same boat as OP. My lease is up in October. I loved the X6 from first sight back in 2009. Wasn't thrilled with the body changes with the F86 but it grew on me. I can't get past the ass on this one though I've been considering going back to the X5. Time will tell.

I like that it is different and there aren't so many out there but that new ass...... EDIT - I see from your other thread you also looked at the GLE Coupe. Did you drive it? It definitely catches my eye but I haven't driven it. If it's soft, cushy, and loose I'll stick with the ugly ass on the X6.

I bought my X6MC in Marina Bay Blue, if my dealership didnt have that color I would have gone for an X5MC in a heartbeat.
The X6MC looks great only with either Marina Blue or Tanzanite Blue, and meh on the others. Given all the black trims and accents with the Marina Bay Blue, it seems to hide that crushed lard ass look of the X6 we all commonly agree on, and gives it a more sportier coupe look were all after. |

I'm pretty convinced I will order MBB for next lease. I've gone back and forth between black and some variation of grey for the past 20 years. When I originally placed the order for my 2019 X6M, I did LBB but chickened out and changed it to DG. I love the color but it was a bit loud. I can live with the MBB.

Had Monaco blue on my m5 back in the day and it was loud in a good way. Thinking next cycle I'll go with a louder set of colors for my rides.

The X6 is all about styling. One would pick it because they want a higher seating position and the dynamics of driving a SUV. A lot of people don’t want to duck down getting into their luxury vehicle. The X5 for the same reasons as above but want/need more cargo space. It’s a personal style choice really and I have grow to appreciate both of the two designs.

Having had both, it comes down to style and preference coupled with needs. They both perform like a bat out of hell, but with the X5 platform you get the rear headroom, bigger rear window view, increased cargo space, and split tailgate. The last two has been why I've been on the X5 platform for my recent SAVs.

X6MC for me. I have owned both over the years
but the styling and uniqueness of the X6 make it the winner for me. My wife drives a MB GLC63S and so with two (albeit smaller) SUVs in the family and the kids in college we don't need the size of the X5. |

We were headed to pick our F95 in ATL w/ our 3 month old (at the time) daughter. Pulled into a Chic-fil-a in BFE Georgia for a meal and a diaper change. Saw an F96 in the drive thru that was an exact doppelgänger for our soon-to-be-had F95 (Sahkir on MWM). I really liked it honestly...for the wife. Sportback coupe-y SUVs aren't for me. IMHO they are more: soccer-mom-stand-out-in-the-private-school-pickup-lane coupes with 4 wheel drive than the F95 which is a beast of a vehicle. It's a beautiful car, but at my size getting in and out of an F96 (vs an F95) seemed cumbersome. Perhaps I should test drive one. We just sold wifey's car at a profit, but wanna hold off until the car market cools down (and add to that college fund). So we're down to just the F95. But we love it. She drives it like a champ. Complained about the size of our previous gen X5's, but this one is so nimble and fast that she loves it.
