Hey All-

I was originally looking to get a 45e but both my local dealers are saying there is still a stop sale with no ETA on when they will be able to restart production so they can give me an allocation but can’t guarantee if/when it will be fulfilled

Given that I’m looking at the 40i as a backup choice and I’ve got my heart set on individual Ametrin Metallic but that seems restricted to the M50i vs. last year when it was available across all models. Do you know if this can be special ordered or if I’m just out or luck?

I don't think there is a Stop sale on the 45e now maybe there could be in the USA but I don't think so. Sounds like your dealer might not have an allocation for one or if they do it's really far out. If you want a 45e I'd check with a few other dealers see what they say.

No US stop sale that I am aware of. Week 49 build in hand.

As mentioned, there is no stop sale on the 45e. As far as Ametrin goes, it is not available as an Individual paint since it is considered a serial paint for the model since it is/was available as a priority 1 paint. That said, your dealer may be able to special order it so they should contact BMWNA.

Sorry for hijacking thread, but do you also know if you can order piano black or carbon interior trim the same way for 45e?

It never hurts for a dealer to ask but likely the answer will be no. It seems they rarely do special orders for items like that.

I know in Ireland you can order either of those options on the X5 45e if you want but I don't know about in America.

There hasn't been a stop sale in the US in months. You need to avoid those two dealers. There are a ton of BMW dealers in SoCal.

My sales guy (technically in SoCal) said no when I asked about ordering the carbon, altho his dealership is willing to put it in afterwards (with an installation fee). Considering he does sooo many special orders, including M cars, I'm pretty sure he knows what's possible and what isn't.
