Schedule Remote Engine Start
Sorry if this has been addressed, but using a quick search didn't reveal anything.
Essentially, what happened was that I scheduled a start, let's say at 0800. Then, I tried to find and delete it, but I didn't see a time listed so I clicked on the "Deactivate Departure Time," and then scheduled a start for 0900. Of course my plans changed again and I ended up remote starting using the FOB at around 0855. When I got to the car, it was running, but it said something along the lines of it hadn't started because it would have drained the battery too much. Maybe because it was already running from me using the FOB? When I arrived at my destination after about 30 minutes of driving and shut off the car, it instantly restarted for the scheduled climate control start. Maybe a very specific situation, but I'm curious if: 1. There is a way to see if/when you have a scheduled start. 2. Can you cancel/modify a scheduled start. 3. If you schedule a start, but end up using the remote to leave earlier, will the car do the auto start after shutting down? Thanks for the input. |

The menu both in the vehicle and on the app should show what is current, and you should be able to change it. The history file should show if the information was received by the vehicle. That doesn't always happen, but it should show failed if for some reason it didn't get through, or acknowledged by the vehicle.

Did you figure this out?
Just got my X5 and everything is connected and works well. But when I schedule a remote start, there is no way to see where it’s set or to deactivate that specific one. All I see in the history is that it was successful in sending it to the car. But which one? How many scheduled start can you schedule? Or is it just one? How does the deactivation button work? Do you need to set the same time as you had set? I’ll play with it tomorrow and open up the manual but checking just in case |

You can set up to three different windows. An individual window can be set to activate on specific days, so you could have one set for M-F for leaving to work, another from M-F for leaving work, and a separate one for S-S. There's a check box for a single entry, which is the default, so that one will only happen once.

I think I figured it out.
If I go inside the car under departure schedule I have all 3 options I can set. 1 for a one time and 2 scheduled always. My guess is the mobile app only links to the 1x and sends it to the car. My issue and that’s just bad UX imo is that the mobile app does not show what you set or the regular schedule. Feature I likely won’t be using because of it. |
