Dan Knight @ Next Level Auto Brokers

Was awesome. Can't recommend enough. Took delivery of my 2021 X5 40i a few days ago. Local dealers weren't really willing to negotiate, and the sales guy I had used in the past totally flaked on me. I was swamped with work, and didn't feel like dealing with the process. I reached out to Dan, who got me a great deal (pre-incentives) and was both totally transparent and incredibly responsive. The car was delivered to a dealership in NJ on Tuesday, and was shipped out (and received) the following day. The entire process could not have been smoother.

The car was ordered in early November, and so it took about 7 weeks. I'm coming from an F15 50i, which I loved. I don't have a lot of miles on the new car, but what strikes me most is that the new car feels MUCH smoother on the road (both with air suspension and third row). I was a little worried that I'd be giving up some comfort by going with the 21 inch wheels (F15 had 20s), but nothing could be further from the truth. The difference in tech is also night and day. A few pics attached. More to follow.

Nice ride and great Christmas gift!

Any chance you can snag a photo of the 3rd row up? I'm interested to see how much foot space exists in the 3rd row when the 2nd row is pushed as far up as it can go.

Edit: Nice color too!

Thanks a lot. No dealers neat me order them with the 3rd row.

Numbers worked out pretty well. MSRP on the car is $82,095. Got 10% off, plus incentives ($1,000 loyalty + $500 lease credit). I maxed out MSDs (7 in total), which lowered the MF to .00047.

Took three shots: one with second row all the way forward, one with second row all the way back, and one split. Hope this helps!

Also, in all pics, I had the seat backs all the way back.

This is so incredibly helpful! I've been scanning every video on YouTube and every post across all BMW forums for exactly this shot!!!

I GREATLY appreciate it!!!

Happy to help. I've got four kids, and while we usually don't take my car, I like having the option. I think the third row is great. Not so much for my 15-year old (who is 6'), but my youngest are 8-yr old twins who are pretty tall for their age. No complaints at all from them. Should be fine for them for a few more years.

Maybe tomorrow I'll stuff the 15-yr old in the third row (maximizing the legroom) and we'll see how he does.

This is great to know. The X5 will be for my wife. And will be our primary family hauler. My kids are 11(b), 9(g), and 5(g). My son is on the taller side and my daughters are smaller for their age.

What I'm struggling with is I absolutely love BMW vehicles. I custom ordered my M3 five years ago and I'm hooked on the brand. High quality, fun to drive, and cutting edge tech. My M3 is excellent by every possible measure and I'll keep it for a very long time.

I'm just unsure of the 3rd row in the X5. When all five of us are in the car it's for about a maximum of 30 minutes. Most of the time it's short trips of 20 minutes or less.

The only other car that may possibly be in the running is the 100% redesigned 2022 MDX (and possibly the type-s). It has everything we're looking for from a practicality standpoint and then some. But I have a very strong suspicion it will be lacking in many areas vs the bmw in regards to driving dynamics and fun factor. I will be driving the X5 a lot so I want to enjoy it too .

One other question on the seats... Does the middle section of the 2nd row fold down? I'm thinking it would be nice to have that folded down so my two youngest wouldn't feel as claustrophobic as their heads won't be above the seats.

The middle section does fold down. I know Acura is going upscale with the MDX (and I'm sure it will be a great car). I toyed with the idea (and also considered RR sport and MB GLE). At the end of the day I just like BMW too much. I went back and forth with the 3rd row decision (since it prevented me from getting the X5 M50i (you can only get the third row with the 40i). My wife has an Infiniti QX60, and we have a minivan...don't really need three cars which seat 7. I'm coming from an F15 50i (with third row), and while the power and acceleration were awesome, it's not something I could really use on a day-to-day (and the gas mileage sucked). The G05 40i is plenty quick (and I think BMW's inline 6 is a fun engine to drive), and while I might not use that third row every day, I decided it's better for us to have the option/flexibility than to not.

Thanks again for taking the time to post these photos. They have been exceedingly helpful.

I'm going to head to the local dealer to check them out again this weekend.

Hi Dan,

I sent you a pm, I’m also interested in a x5 with third row option. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
