Better keep those keys safe

Returned it safely and didn't tell my parents until I was in my 20's, despite my older sister seeing me driving away from home..she didn't rat me out.

With two children myself now I will be sure to lock the keys up. My 7 yo caught the devious gene from her daddy, but my 3 yo son is definitely the driver of the two. Shes prefers driving a horse.

1984 BMW 325i in 1986 when I was 15. I learned to drive in that car, courtesy of a family friend who had stuff that we didn't. I didn't drive another BMW until the late 90's when I got some seat time in an E36 M3 owned by my boss and then his subsequent E39 M5 when it was brand new.

I couldn't really grab my own BMW at that time, so my next experience was my first BMW 14 years later (used 2010 328i X-Drive). That car was a semi-flooded shitbox, but it still locked me into sticking with BMW.

I can still hear that BMW emblem clinking along the asphalt after it dislodged from the hood. I thought it was a total loss, but this tank of a car was able to be repaired and was put back into service. My understanding is that they only imported them for a couple of years.
What is a 924TD? Never heard of that.

My first drive was a 1980 e12 530i.
Loved it but ended up buying a 1983 e28 533i. Man that was a nice car! "Fastest sedan on the market" according to the Car & Driver article which I still have somewhere.

i was just getting my drivers license around the time the first gen X5 came out. My dad got one. He got an e46 loaner while it was in the shop one time.. it was like a 328i or something. but the way it drove and how cool it looked had me hooked.
