Chipped my spoiler. Anyone have a BSM spoiler for the F96?
I opened my trunk in a hospital garage and my spoiler hit a cement cross beam and chipped. Luckily no damage to glass or actual trunk.
Was wondering if anyone bought a CF spoiler and has their old black, stock one laying around for me to buy. What are my other options? Can I get a painted OEM one? Let the dealer try to fix it? I dont want a CF one to switch out. |

Yeah, I get that. If you end up going repair route I personally wouldn't go to dealer. At least at my dealer they farm this work out anyway so they're just a middleman. I suppose if you don't have a shop you trust going through the dealer may provide some assurance on quality (maybe??) but I personally wouldn't be too concerned, especially with this piece where so little of the paint is visible dead on and small area butting up against an adjacent panel (the C pillars). Good luck. Curious how this ends up working out for you.

I know this one doesn't fit the X5M but why not go down the path a brand new one??

you're better off taking it off yourself (fish line or similar) then taking it to body shop to have it repaired/painted then putting it back on using double side tape..
original one is attached using betalink glue from factory which is hard to remove, but with enough elbow grease and patience you can do it at home.. or simply ask the body shop to remove it and reinstall once they've completed repair/paint of the current one.. someone will have to do it as you cannot affix the old one back or new one without cleaning the surface first for proper seal.
