I actually have the 808Ms on my X5M, its not my favorite wheel but i think Ill hold on to them until something else comes along that i like better. Ive looked at HRE and Vossen but only a few designs I like. I like the FF01 but its not recommended for the X5 because of the weight.

The PS4's are an all season, while the PS4S is a summer performance tire. More importantly, is the little known fact that the PS4S star spec tires are actually using special compounds that put it between the regular PS4S tires and the Cup2's.. no idea what that means for comfort, but choose your poison wisely

Just found a company who has the rears (315/40/21) Michelin pilot sport 4SUV tires in stock. Tire rack & discount tire have the front (295/40/21) but had the rears on backorder for some time now. I will be ordering today. Hopefully have them on by the 4th because I have a trip to take and want to try them out.

When i switched from the Pirelli to the Michelin OE tires the only place that had them in stock was dealer (Tischer BMW). Never thought to buy tires from the dealer honestly but they had them. Slightly more expensive than TR but wasn't absurd and they had them in stock.

Finally got the tires installed. I can say the ride is definitely smoother than the Pirelli's. Its not a big change, but there is a noticeable difference. They knock off that hard edge the Pirelli's had. I only drove about 20 miles on them so far so i cant say a lot about grip, however, they are not as sticky as the Pirelli's. I have a 400 mile trip coming up next week so i will know more then. Here are some before & after pics. I'm running 12mm & 20MM spacers. The Michelins definitely have a different look, especially the rears. They stick out more that the Pirelli's. There is absolutely no rubbing at full lock steering. Im not sure about suspension travel rubbing at full lock, but what i did in the parking lot, there was no rubbing. The sidewall on the rear looks exaggerated in the photos. Ill see how they look after I put the white paint on them.

Interesting. Can you remind us which tires you bought - are they the same outside diameter as factory spec (they look taller but maybe that's difference in sidewall design?), do they have the same speed rating front and rear? I considered switching to A/S Pirellis as TireRack had them available in the correct sizes but speed rating was different front to rear so I decided to stop bellyaching about buying winter set (which was what the problem I was trying to solve). I know we were trying to solve for different problems, but I didn't know there was a Michelin option.

Pirelli P-ZERO Tire size front = 295/35 R21-------Wheels = 21x10.5 [29.1” Diameter tire] Tire size rear = 315/35 R21------- Wheels = 21x11.5 [29.7” Diameter tire] Plus 2% difference larger tire in the rear. My New 21” setup Michelin Pilot Sport 4SUV 21” $1698 Tire size front = 295/40 R21 [30.3” Diameter tire] (1.2” taller than factory) Tire size rear = 315/40 R21 [30.9” Diameter tire] (1.2” taller than factory) Plus 2% difference larger tire in the rear. Outside diameter is larger by 1.2 inches. The delta from front to rear hasn't changed. Not sure about the speed rating |

They do seem narrow in the photo. I wish i had a similar picture with the Pirelli. How much of a drop do you have?

Hard to tell from perspective maybe the lowered exaggerates?
Do I even have an inch of extra room to fit them? Would rather not take the car back to have it raised and realigned. |
