G05 dashcam start/stop not working

Hi, got the blackvue CH900 F&R with the power magic pro installed professionally
the start/stop has stopped working now just has a line through. is there some reason for this? is it the wrong fuse being used ? anyone can shed some light?

Has anybody tried installing a battery pack (BlackVue B-124 or Cellink Neo)? Where's the best position to completely hide the wires? Seems like no hole in the glove to fuse box to fish the wires.

I put the battery pack under the passenger seat, in front of the footwell of rear passenger

Hi, I'm also in NYC. Just curious - do you have any safety concerns of leaving the battery pack inside your car (i.e. leaks, explosion, etc.), especially when NYC experienced extreme high temperature over the last two weeks?

Thanks! What's your recommended path to route the main camera and fuse wires to the battery?

Nope never had a thought, if that battery pack fries then im sure it wont be the only thing to go.
In my other car (x5) I took it to a shop (oneeighty) and they hardwired it to the car and it'll stay on for about 2-3 hours and then turn off when parked.

I haven't opened the front passenger fuse box but the one in the cargo doesn't come with the fusecard. I downloaded mine from:

https://www.bmw.ie/en/topics/owners/...xsYmFjay5odG1s

The fuse box in the cargo area has plenty of space to place the battery pack (blackvue or cellink). My problem is all fuses, while mostly switched (except for F217 which is always on), have ~10 min delays before powering off. Some actions like opening door(s) result to power switching on. I think this is bad for the car battery with at least 9A draw from the battery pack. Could have been good setup.

Looks like I have to go to the front fuse box. My battery pack hasn't arrived yet but it looks like it would fit the glove compartment. I really want all wires hidden including the battery pack.

Any inputs from others who have set up blackvue with a battery pack?

I had a chance to open the front passenger fuse box by the kick panel. It looks like, though, that all switched fuses do not turn off immediately after the ignition is turned off. Similarly, fuses have 12V when doors are opened (e.g., F53).

nyc328ci , would you mind sharing if your battery pack is still powered after you turn the car off, or after any door is opened? Thanks!

I have a pro mechanist to install blackvue on my G05. Basically, he said blackvue with magic pro will not work for this bmw (work well for my previous RX350) so he suggest to buy a blackvue external battery for this dashcam.

Then I had it and used for almost 3 months without any issue. Only thing we need to do is drive the car at least 1 hour a day so the battery will be charged for parking mode.

That's pretty simple. Except the blackvue battery will cost us a few hundred bucks.

The video attached is the auto braking activated for no reason in the middle of traffic.

My dealer's electronics shop did the install of my BV900S-2 Channel. They insisted on including the magic pro.

I have not had serious problems and am not certain what role the BV plays in occasional battery issues reported in this thread:

Obviously, the magic pro did not work properly as it supposed to prevent the BV suck all the vehicle's battery.

That's why the mechanist suggest me to have the blackvue external battery. And as they mentioned blackvue has recommend this for most of new german cars like mercedes & audi.

I guess having an external battery is a safe option while they figuring how to make it work with magic pro.

Neither me nor my dealer have been able to determine with certainty that the BV triggered the battery warnings I reported in a separate thread.

I do not routinely use the parking mode and the first time I saw the battery warning was during a month of driving on the open road.

Other considerations relate to how frequently the G05 turns on and turns off. When I walk around my car in the garage, it will turn on and off multiple times. If I leave my key on an adjacent vehicle in my garage and walk down the driveway to get mail, again the car will turn on and turn off multiple times. Then of course every time I go to the car in the garage to follow up on a post from this forum we have the power staying on another 15 minutes.

I have a V1 that is hardwired and goes off with the ignition. I also have an R7, but I unplug it on days when I am not driving the G05.

Im not so familiar with mechanical stuffs, however I guess going with external battery will be a safer option for your car rather than magic pro as I can see many people having issue with magic pro as well as my mechanist said.

You can read this thread as well : https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1454576

Hope you find a good solution for your dash cam.

Cheers

Just got The blackvue dr900s 2 channel set up professionally at Abt. They did pretty good job.

Did not have extra battery and parking mode because worried about car battery problem . The price with all setup with tax is around $722

I dont want them to install it at the rear . The one you see that turn to me is the rear camera which i ask them to install it at front to see passenger room.

I dont know how to post the video here and not sure the file will have original quality as 4K. The front camera has 4 k resolution which is stunning while the rear camera has the same camera as in 750 which give you Full hd 1080 P quality which you will see the different.
I mostly park in garage and get o work and also park in private garage so dont really worried much snd no need for parking mode. We usually travel as family so reccording in passenger room could be fun. Also if some one stealing my car so i can see who are they lol or may be doing a fake taxi XD
I tried to post the video but it said “invalid”

Any consensus on where to tap a fuse for the hardwire? Exposed wires are a pet peeve of mine and I’d ideally like to tap it to a fuse box in the back

I read in some other thread that there still issues with Magic Pro and there is a considerable battery drain. I even contacted BlackVue support but didn't get a proper response, just a standard response.
