My guess would be no since it is evidently a pain to do so but that is just my opinion.

I say this with total humility, and recognize that this is all a matter of taste; I am glad you guys enjoy the colored lighting in the car.
But is there a way to turn it ALL OFF? Looks like sitting inside a pinball machine to me. |

Have you tried enabling the setting that dims it in the evenings? |

Ha! I don't own the car yet! Still waiting until they can build the one I want. And my test drives have been in daylight hours, so grain of salt. Maybe I'll love the Tron effect. (But I seriously doubt it)

Good thing is that you can adjust the intensity of the light so I think you'll be able to find a brightness you're comfortable with. Also I think pictures tend to be somewhat oversaturated. |

I see the OP shows how to get the red and blue combo but I’m more interested in the green and purple Joker vibe done. Anyone have detailed instructions on how to put the lilac and green together?

And congrats! Must be difficult to drop her off for college after raising her for all those years. I know it's cliche, but ever since the baby was born, time really does seem to fly by. The whole reason we bought a bigger car is the baby but he actually hates car rides lol. Oh well, guess I'll have to begrudgingly drive this x5 sitting in the driveway |

I have downloaded the Bimmercode app on Android (haven't paid for the full version yet or connected it to the OBD2 adapter I bought), and in the Demo mode of the app, I don't see "BDC Controller" as one of the ECU's.
Does anyone know if that's because I haven't unlocked the full version yet, or is this an IOS vs. Android app version issue? |

I used Bimmercode's easy mode to change colours and it straight up doesn't work correctly on my car - whatever I choose replaces blue rather than bronze, and the mix (e.g. cyan-magenta) doesn't work, I just get one of the colours and blue footwells. I reported the issue a while ago but got tired of waiting for a fix so I took the plunge with your DIY for expert mode and it really is very straightforward. Once you understand what you are changing, you can design any colour scheme you want. Some things that assisted me:- Colour codes: In addition to changing bronze to red, I also wanted to change white to cyan, and lilac to magenta so I could create the combo's I wanted. I used this site to find the hex codes for the colours I wanted - https://htmlcolorcodes.com/color-names/ But as per the OP's warning, I changed the FF to FE. I used this site to check that changing FF to FE still gave the same colour - https://www.colorhexa.com/00fefe (it did). For Cyan I used 00 FE FE For Magenta I used FE 00 FE Keeping track of my changes: I changed most of my default colour schemes, so I needed something to keep track of what I was doing. I've attached the table I created for this purpose - I printed this, worked out what I wanted and filled it in with the values so when I got in the car I just had to make the changes as per the table. Also acts as a record in case my coding gets wiped and I have to re-do it. The file is here: Ambient Light Table.pdf Last edited by mobilejo; 01-09-2022 at 07:50 PM.. |

The biggest issue is that the people that discover the coding changes don't have B&W so have no ability to work out how to change the speaker colours. It needs someone with B&W to do the experimentation. |
