2021 X5 M50 Subwoofer issues

Car is 1 month old, subwoofer has moments of not working. Works again after turning car on/off. Guessing this is not a HW issue, but, a SW issue. Going to call service, but, wondering if others have had similar issues.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your issue. Unfortunately, it appears to be a common issue with certain models and configurations. See the links below.

If you're using wireless CarPlay, there also a bug where it appears to disable the sub and it comes back after 4-5 seconds. That seems to be an iOS bug that was fixed in 14.3.

If the sub cuts out and stays out until you reboot iDrive by holding the volume button in for 30+ seconds until the screen goes black, or until a vehicle natural reboot, that's something potentially remedied with vehicle software or part replacement that some individuals have had in the other forums linked.

Good luck either way!
