G05 X5 Rubber Floor mats and cargo mats
Hello Everyone.. Do you guys recommend the OEM rubber floor mats for X5 or buy from outside Weathertech or similar. Would like to get some directions, my car just completed production, getting delivered close to end of Feb.. Want to make sure proper rubber mats are installed as here in US Mid-west snow don't melt till close to end of April sometimes.. Thank you very much in advance.. Excited to get the car.. Coming from 10 Years of Audi - First BMW

My dealer gifted a set of BMW X5 rubber front floor liners (floor liners have higher side walls to offer even greater protection than standard floor mats - especially with snow and accidental spilled drinks 🍺 and rear floor mats. They're quite nice spiffy with the metal trim on them: https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/6...R-FLOOR-LINERS I've had Weathertechs in the past X5s (E53 and E70). They're nice too, though not a fan of their larger branding on the mats LOL. Other members will chime in - a couple of the guys here have fancier ones compared to my basic OEMs. You can't really go wrong with OEM, Weathertechs or another brand. If you use the forum search, there's been a couple of good threads to check out: Floor mats https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1637014

I have the OEM liners too. I generally like them, but the trunk one doesn't fit as well as I'd like. Aesthetically, I just can't get on board with the Weathertechs.

I have OEM floor mats, and they are fine. However, I returned the OEM trunk liner since it was not the right fit and would keep rubbing the sides when lifted. I bought SMARTLINER All Weather Custom Fit Cargo Liner Trunk Floor from Amazon and it's a perfect fit.

For the rear I would go with weathertech liner. For front and rear cabin take a look at Tuxmat. Much more coverage than the OE.

I bought the OEM version on Amazon (they were actually shipped from a BMW dealer...) for about 2/3rds the retail at my local BMW dealer. I didn't want the extended coverage of Tuxmat. Many of the Weathertech mats I've seen have curled edges with age.
I have a black interior and the mats clean easily. I wash them with a very soft brush and then use Mother's VLR. They aren't shiny when done (which is good) and the black looks deep and new (well, they really are essentially new anyway). I found that things put on the cargo mat say put. I didn't realize it until I put something on the mat but things "stick" well. Of course that means sliding things into the back is a little hard. Also, things seem to leave a "mark" on the mat when you take them out. Usually you can brush away the mark with your hand but, sometimes, I have to get out the VLR. I don't have an issue with fit on the OEM cargo mat. It is snug but isn't is supposed to be? FYI - I store the carpet mats under the rear floor even though I have the spare. |

I have all OEM mats and trunk liner in my X5. I am pleased with the interior mats as they used the existing velcro circle to hold the mats in place. I do not, however, like the OEM trunk liner.
For my wife's X7, we got the Weathertech liners because she has had those in the past and liked them. My biggest complaint with them is that they do not use the existing velcro to hold the liners in place and the included anchors come out too easily resulting in the liner sliding around somewhat. |

I'm a huge fan of the OEM floor mats in the cabin. I'm not as much of a fan of the OEM rear mat. I don't know what it is - but it seems to be to be made of a different type of rubber material. More sticky and shows every single scuff. And as some have said, a like the idea of the fit (has a raised lip to keep fluids contained), but it is a little tight.
I'd go for OEM up front, WeatherTech in the rear. Adam |

I agree with most posts here. The OEM mats inside are great, good fit, look good and easy to clean.
The OEM boot liner is garbage. Its not well made in that they're slightly warped, and is a very poor fit which leads to it being constantly displaced. Look elsewhere for the boot liner. |

45e Cargo Liner
I purchased this from Amazon and after using it for a recent trip feel that I can recommend it. It fits 45e perfectly AND provides access to all 4 floor hooks. It's also flexible enough to lift it to access underfloor compartment.

I got the Cqlights X5 Cargo Liner from Amazon for $70 and it is molded and fits perfectly. If you have the spider cargo net, use a razor blade to cut 4 small slits at the corners for the net hooks.
Will take actual pics when I get a chance. https://www.amazon.com/Cqlights-Carg...2950078&sr=8-7

I've been looking for options for a trunk mat for a 2021 X5 45e. The OEM one per the link below is pitched as a "Luggage Compartment Mat" and has what seems like extra ridges across the whole mat. I'm more interested in a basic mat but would want the thickness to be durable rather than flimsy.
https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/6...ompartment-Mat Is the option from WeatherTech well built and does it fit well on the trunk? When you see the pictures posted at their site, it shows various views but for different vehicles rather than the X5 so it's not clear to me how well it fits. |

I had the OEM cargo mat. while grippy, I didn't like how the sides were so floppy, so I replaced it with the WeatherTech. it fits better, doesn't deform, though it's less 'grippy' than OEM.

Another vote for BMW accessory rubber floormats and WeatherTech rear cargo mat.

I also am happy with OEM. We bought in late ‘18 for our early build MY ‘19 40i M sport and just moved them over to our new X5M last weekend. Front and rears look perfect, cargo liner shows a little wear but we use our SUV like a work truck so I’m thrilled how well it has held up.
