Left windows cracked in rain!

Hi all,

I left the windows cracked open in our 3mo old 45e last night (it was a very nice day yesterday). I had forgotten about the rain today and by the time I remembered it had been raining for a few hours. Windows were only open a inch and a half or so.

Small amount of water on floor mats (all weather), sensatec seats, window sills etc. I used several towels to dry off everything I could see and then pulled car into garage. Dried off a bit more and cracked windows about 3-4 inches leaving a small space heater in the car.

Should I be ok here? I’m kicking myself as this has never happened and I’m usually far more careful.

If everything works, should be ok. Small amount, no puddle in food well, right?

Sensatec is vinyl, very tough. Some water isn’t going to hurt it.

Yep no puddle in the footwell. A small amount of water on the mats but no where near “soaked”.

And yea the sensatec seems very durable. It’s perforated so I was a bit worried but the perforations are very small. I think a few hours with the heater and all will be fine.

Get some rid out and set in car for a few days it will absorb any excess water.

Are you talking about a desiccant?

Maybe he means DampRid, which is a form of desiccant.

Yep that is what I guessed and was actually going to stick a few tubs in the car tonight. Cheers everyone.

Yep, those of us with boats use this as well. It helps with keeping moisture /odors under control when stored in damp environment. There are a bunch of different form factors so choose what works best for you. A quick guess is that hanging a couple from the handles in the back and then putting some buckets on the floor. Should work wonders.

Leaving an unattended space heater in the vehicle is an accident waiting to happen. An accident that can destroy the vehicle and your garage and/or house. If it were me, I would roll all windows down completely and get some tall pedestal fans blowing into the open windows for air circulation.
