X5M now or RSQ8 later….
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com My BMW dealer has a perfectly optioned X5M Comp that I can get today, at a slight discount from MSRP. This would be my 10th BMW from this dealer so they are willing to budge on price. I've already extended my M5 lease by two months so that's no longer an option. Should I look for some other temporary car and wait on the RSQ8 or jump on the X5M Comp now? This unpredictable market has me confused. What would you do?? |

Sounds like you prefer RSQ8 over X5M. Otherwise you would have taken the X5M that's available to drive home right away with a small discount.
My 2 cents only.

For me, I love the look of the Audi (although still think I prefer the BMW), but I really don't like Audi interiors lately. Two screens covered in fingerprints and next to no physical buttons. If I liked the interiors better (and assuming no supply chain issues) we would have almost certainly jumped to the RS6 Avant. But that's me. |

Only other thing you may consider is the landscape 3 years from now. We don't need an M (who does?!) but have one on order in part because we'll likely be switching to electric at some point so might as well get the beast now. BMW seems most committed to ICE but that's today. I would not be at all surprised if a year from now they shift their messaging a bit. My belief (hope?) is those who want an ICE will continue to be able to get one but the big power ICEs will certainly become an even more premium option. |

With the current shortages of cars you might be able to flip the X5M for little to no loss if you are already getting a significant discount on the car which nobody else is getting in the current environment.
Personally the X5M looks better than the RSQ8. The only thing I wish the X5M had was air suspension for better ride quality. Alan

See if you can sell the RSQ8 allocation, or at least don't give it up just yet for free if there's a refundable deposit at play.
Dealers in SEPA are marking them up 15-20k as soon as they're taken off the truck, so a buy & flip play, even in December, may well be worth it. But as someone who had the same debate and went F95, I'd make the same decision again every single day of the week. Nearly 3 months in, and I still keep finding excuses to go places. You're going to have a blast! |

I looked into the RSQ8 before getting my 2021 X5MC. I've had the last 2 gen's and like you, just lease another and move on. Thought I wanted something different. I read a lot, watched a lot of reviews and then finally had the chance to drive them both...this was much earlier this year when they were a little more plentiful. I like the looks of the Audi and yes, they are crappy to lease...and being familiar with BMW, I drove the BMW first....felt familiar and refreshed from my 2016....then drove the Audi and knew I wanted the BMW.
I've watched a lot of videos and these comparisons are all over YouTube. I found this was the best. I like these guys and felt they were objective in the opinions and differences. |
