Check your suspension!

Bought a CPO 2018 Alpine White M5 a few weeks ago with 8900 miles. While ceramic coating the rims I noticed some plastic pieces wedged in the front suspension. Turns out the transport blocks made it through not only a PDI but also a CPO inspection - simply amazing.

They must have did a really good inspection… those inspections, they probably take the paper and hammer check marks down and send it.

Amazing. This is why I always give CPO cars the side eye. To me, it's still far more of a dealer incentive than a consumer incentive.

I would ask them for new shocks, since they were not allowed to dampen enough over time and probably suck now.

That, and the seals could be damaged from the harder materials... I imagine the bump stops are either damaged or shredded by now.

Amazing that the previous owner(s) didn't feel the suspension NOT WORKING. Wow...

I would demand nothing less than entirely new shocks and bump stops. Get an alignment while you're at it and make sure there are no cracks around the shock towers or any of the chassis braces from transferred stresses.

Good luck, OP.

The M5 forum is where I originally posted. Not sure what happened.
