Yeah, I've done 3 IM builds and never worked with "the individual center" always just Maria, but I know she did get a different role so maybe "the individual center" is what replaced Maria ...
That said, that was for German-built vehicles (Regensburg), and AFAIK IM is not available for anything out of Spartanburg (X cars), rather you can just pick a few exterior colors ... so does that still mean you have to go through "the individual center"? If so, what a hassle just for exterior colors ... |

Yeah, so I think we're talking about two different things:
* I'm talking about Individual Manufaktur aka, "IM", where you order paint-to-sample, custom interiors built to the customer's specifications, e.g., salmon skin trim AFAIK, IM is NOT AVAILABLE FOR X VEHICLES - has that changed? * You're talking about BMWUSA picking exterior colors from the IM pre-researched color catalog (versus, say, paint-to-samples) and making those exterior colors available for order. Said differently, for X cars my understanding is there is no IM, only pre-selected bits & bobs, AKA config options no different from, say, picking Alpine White or 22" wheels. It's a hassle because: (1.) If I pick Ametrin, a pre-selected color, it's $1950, and it's just part of my usual dealer order. (2.) if I pick Ruby Red, also a pre-selected color, then apparently I have use some other process "the individual center" and it's $5k. That's stupid. Just make all the pre-researched colors part of the standard ordering process. I suppose for people who haven't done IM, then maybe some additional process makes it special, but why should ordering Ruby Red be any different from ordering Alpine White? It's just kinda more of BMW watering down its branding near as I can tell ... am I missing something? Is IM now available for Spartanburg?
