Yeah man. I talked about it with jtodd_fl and it just doesn't make sense for me to invest a premium on a general production-run vehicle that is overhyped solely for being the first of its kind; I thought a lot over the weekend about where my money is going and the car I am getting for the money, and the premium that dealers are already placing on this car and the lack of feedback I am getting from my own sales department is disheartening. ESPECIALLY for it to have not even come out yet and getting more concrete details on F87 post than I have ever gotten from my own dealership.

The M2 is great, but my heart has always been with the F80. I sent off my 2017 configuration to my client advisor last night and requested to be removed from the M2 allocations slot I currently hold. The $1,500 deposit will instead be used toward the F80 build. From this point I've got about 8-10 months to make sure all other components of my life are in order and to close out a couple open lines of credit that I have to I can get an optimum deal. Just makes more sense to me.


Plus with this M2 not even being an LCI, and the F80 being an LCI, I don't want to take an aesthetic hit for a facelift to be released in 2 years' time.

There's a lot of hype around the damn tin can, probably a bit... unnecessary? Market adjustment is just BS - especially on a fucking BMW, lol. Silly people.

Honestly, I just LOVE how the F80 looks; I would probably end up in the exact car as you, too. As much as I like the F87 in terms of size. And as much as the douchey M stripes suits it better.

MW or SS over SO leather is my dream spec. I might unexpectedly visit you some day and steal the vehicle.

I am envious and wish I was in your position. Good problems to have.

I had peas soaking in a champagne glass (in the middle of move here, those were in my to give away pile). The plan was to plant them today, but because my vicious dog knocked the glass over I now have a thumb without a skin on one side.

My tip of the day is to always use crystal flutes. Those would've saved my skin. Literally.

Right! It seemed a bit silly to me, looking at it as objectively as possible. It's crazy though, I was on my list for a while, and am still looking forward to this car. However, it will not be one that I buy next year just to "wait" for the hype to die.

I miss sedans. After I sold my E90 and got into the Mini, I missed the refinement and power of BMW's, and the rear wheel drive. The lighter colors on the SO (since Coral Red is gone) were the only configuration I preferred since Individual is a bit costly at this stage, $5,000 for paint.

I believe you are in Europe, no? If you are ever in the vicinity of Washington, DC (you know, for tourist-y things or something) then the car should be in my possession by no later than the beginning of spring, next year.

It is definitely something I am preparing myself for, on many accounts. And I feel as though it is the smartest thing for me to do, given the unfortunate turmoil surrounding the M2.
